I recommended Selenium to my company. I have a bit of coding experience. After using TestProject, I had suggested my company consider using Selenium. My company plans to use Selenium, where we can write codes specifically to record scripts and our applications.

We evaluated OpenText and QMetry along with Katalon Studio. QMetry is a scripted tool requiring knowledge of Selenium and Java scripting. Katalon Studio is a scriptless tool providing advantages similar to those found in tools like TestComplete. We decided to opt for Katalon as it is scriptless, making the span of the learning curve shorter.

We also use Sahi Pro. Depending on the client’s requirement, we automate using different automation tools.

We evaluated Tricentis and Worksoft before choosing Katalon Studio.

We've since looked at both UFT and TestComplete. Katalon is cheaper, however, it doesn't offer everything we need and its features aren't as robust as the other two.

We evaluated other options before selecting Katalon Studio.

Prior to choosing Katalon for testing, we were looking at Selenium and Telerik Test Studio. Katalon offers the free version, which allows us to play around with it. Also, the API and the mobile features are attractive.

I did not evaluate other options.

Before implementing Katalon, we compared it with Selenium, which we were already using.

If a user has good programmatic skills, I'd go for Selenium. Otherwise, due to its relative speed and faster automation, I'd go for Katalon.

My colleagues and I did a comparison between Ranorex Studio and Katalon Studio. 

Katalon Studio provides us with a free solution for some of our basic features. Ranorex is very expensive for us. Both are user-friendly and we can work with both of these solutions easily.

I was recently tasked with looking at different testing tools, and I evaluated several including Katalon. Once I tried it, I liked it, and so far we've been happy with it.

TestComplete and UFT. They're all costly.

Before choosing this product, I also evaluated Selenium, TestComplete, and Telerik.

Other test automation tools that we evaluated are products that we have used previously such as Micro Focus UFT One and open source tools like Selenium and Cypress.

When it comes to Selenium, it is more of a scripting language, while Katalon is a keyword-driven solution in which you can use visual programming.

One of my colleagues is in charge of teaching software engineering testing issues. When the students are tackling the testing project, they sometimes suggest using different tools. Some years ago it was Selenium, nowadays it is Katalon. Of course, there are other tools that perhaps in the future we will suggest to the students to use in their projects. We are not teaching them to be professional users of Katalon and we will continue to evaluate tools and take suggestions for future packages.  

We did not evaluate other options. We needed certain capabilities and we found Katalon to be acceptable.

We evaluated Postman and SoapUI along with Katalon Studio. Ultimately, we chose Postman because it has been in the market for a while, it has good open-source documentation and has a more active community. In general, people trust it.
