What is most valuable?

For real-time oscilloscopes, Rohde & Schwarz has a pretty robust solution. * It's compact. * It has low channel noise. * I appreciate their customer support. * It… more»

How has it helped my organization?

I have been able to do quality measurements that I have been unable to achieve with the equipment from some other vendors. Since I spend quite some time in the lab, this… more»

What needs improvement?

There was a learning curve. Their use interface and the way that their products work are not intuitive to somebody who switches from other vendors, like Keysight or… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is very competitive.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

A good friend of mine suggested Rohde & Schwarz. Previously, I was using Keysight LeCroy, so I didn't really know about Rohde & Schwarz. I trust the person who suggested… more»

What other advice do I have?

I would advise someone to seriously consider using Rhode & Schwarz's equipment, especially if they have similar needs to mine. Most of the time, I'm not measuring signals… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We tried Tektronix or Keysight LeCroy. I have nothing against LeCroy, as the company still uses it with some applications, specifically for voluntary measurements, our… more»

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is its frequency range. The user interface is easy, simple, and practical.

How has it helped my organization?

We are able to determine losses associated with different types of materials. Thus, we are able to decide the materials which are best for any given design. The electrical measurements that this… more»

What needs improvement?

I would like the frequency range to be extended because of the speed. Electronics are moving forward to higher speeds, so it's better to have higher frequencies. The product's antennas and radar… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing was the best option when we purchased it. It's very expensive equipment and cannot be upgraded after five years. If you buy equipment today, in five years, it won't be upgradeable. You… more»

What other advice do I have?

I have recommended this product before because I think we received the best product for the money that we paid. It didn't take time for us to learn because we knew how the product worked in advance… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We also have a Keysight VNA, which is also good. We chose this vendor because of pricing. We got a good deal when we contacted the vendor. We traveled to the manufacturer before purchasing, and they… more»

What is most valuable?

It's a fairly multi-purpose instrument. It has a nice high-resolution screen. It is easy to set up the scope triggers, has a lot of scope trigger options for capturing waveforms, and seamlessly goes into the spectrum analysis mode. It has a number of features which are fairly useful. The user… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

They're fairly competitive for pricing across the industry.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We have used a lot of Keysight's instruments. These are our two main vendors currently. We did get a demo and have stuck with the LeCroy ecosystem at this point for our real-time scopes.

What other advice do I have?

I would totally recommend this product. It's a pretty advanced product. Therefore, the learning curve does require some learning, but once you've mastered it, it's worth it. They're pretty good at keeping up with all the latest advances. As our budget permits, we'd obviously like to upgrade to… more»

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature would be the bandwidth.

What needs improvement?

The memory needs improvement. I had to change the probes to higher frequency probes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

For the 4-channel big display, you have to upgrade to 500 MHz. The pricing was good.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We bought this solution for because we needed higher bandwidth and more channels.

What other advice do I have?

There is not really a learning curve. The user interface is normal. It is not the old-school style. So, it's easy to use based on the fact that I've used other relatively new scopes. We are sometimes… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Teledyne LeCroy, Keysight, and RIGOL. We did not obtain a demo before purchasing.
