ManageEngine OpManager Pricing

Ved Singh - PeerSpot reviewer

The price of the license is great. It has posed itself on a very aggressive pricing scale. So I think the pricing is good and in line with the kind of service it is providing, and if they keep it like this, they're going to take over the market. I rate it a five out of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive.

We had perpetual licenses. The cost was around 36,000 for OPManager, and then you'd have the yearly maintenance fee of 2,000 or 3,000.

The pricing is moderate. Considering its capabilities, it's underpriced. So I would rate it as low price, maybe a four out of ten, where one is low and ten is high.

Pricing for ManageEngine OpManager depends on the number of nodes you onboard and whatever pricing is reflected on the ManageEngine portal which offers discounts from ten percent to fifteen percent. It purely depends on the sales volume and the negotiation.

In my organization, there are about one thousand two hundred nodes which cost around $29,000 per year. There's no additional support fee or maintenance fee from ManageEngine OpManager.

Pricing for the solution is highly competitive and I would rate it five out of five. ManageEngine OpManager is one of the most competitive options out there.

When compared with SolarWinds, the pricing is a little lower. We chose the same because of the commercial aspect.

In terms of pricing, I would rate it a two out of five. It was expensive.

I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, where one is low and ten is high price.

It is not really expensive; it is nominal licensing.

I'd rate the pricing six out of ten.

I've seen other networks like Lansweeper and other solutions that provide network monitoring, and the prices are similar.

There can be add-ons involved. Add-ons depends on the license of OpManager. If you have OpManager Plus, you have very few add-ons. If you have OpManager Enterprise, you need an add-on for everything you want to monitor, from database, application, servers, VM host, et cetera.

The licenses for this product depend on the number of devices you want to implement it on within your infrastructure. For example, if we want to monitor applications and IP staff, they will count how many applications we wish to monitor.  The prices are then driven by the category of asset, such as network devices, operating systems, etc.

As far as cost, it was around six hundred thousand rands ($40,500) for the year, for the renewals. That's the total cost for a four thousand node system including support and maintenance. If there is any additional development required, then that comes at an additional cost. We have not really customized too much. The one change we requested was added to the subsequent release. They built the resolution specifically for us and it didn't cost us anything and went out to all users who may have been experiencing similar issues.

Pricing can be a bit high, but if you take advantage of the expertise of the developers and support like I did, it'll pay for itself. Also, if you have other ManageEngine products, they will provide additional discounts.

Considering the pricing, OpManager is actually one of the cheaper solutions in this category. When a new subscription is required for something additional like support and we add the required license, they charge a very little. So the initial cost is low and the add-ons are reasonable.

The licensing costs depend on the number of devices and accounts that are being monitored by the solution. It is a little bit tricky. For example, if it is monitoring storage then it will count the number of devices that are there. If you exceed the number of devices then it will cost a lot.

The solution is costly. SolarWinds, a competitor, is even more expensive than this, however. Still, they should reduce pricing to make it more affordable for a lot of clients.
