ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus Valuable Features

AdeolaEkunola - PeerSpot reviewer

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it helps keep an inventory of endpoints while ensuring that its users get to see the status of the patches, indicating if it is out-of-date or obsolete. The solution provides patches for software tools, and it can also provide patches for applications like Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and many more.

The important feature for me and my company's customers stems from the solution's ability to provide automated patching after using the test and approve feature. The solution automates the patching process on a Monday or Tuesday, so you can schedule the patching process depending on the setting.

What I like best about ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus is that it's one of the oldest and leading products in the market. When I compare it with other products, ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus is more established in many areas versus two or three products my company tested.

I also like the remote push feature in ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus, which you can't find in other products, such as Microsoft Windows Server Update Services. The remote push feature helps me manage several main sites and subsites, while in Microsoft Windows Server Update Services, you have to use the group policy to do some pushing.

Other pros of ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus include being lightweight. It's not heavy on the clients.

The most valuable feature is the ability to pull the updates in ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus, pushing them to the server, which makes it easier for us to complete the patching in a short period of time. We don't have to wait to download the updates from the Windows servers.

The ability to deploy patches seamlessly is the solution's most valuable aspect. It allows us to not only deploy patches but to monitor the deployment of those patches.

It eases the process of patch deployment, and it allows us to easily know what patches are available. We're able to manage our path cycles properly to let us know which systems require a reboot. In some instances, we will know if there is enough storage on the system. The solution also does patching for third-party applications, like an Apache Server. It picks it up and lets you know if there is a patch available for the Apache Server or SQL Server. It's not just OS packages. It also does application packages as well. It's very robust.
