The implementation was through a vendor that is included with the purchase of the solution. They are experts on their field, so the initial setup is easy for as long as we provided what is required such as IP Addresses and power considerations where the hardware will be placed.

We implement the product with the help of our in-house team.

We had help from the McAfee teams in Singapore and India. We also had some help from Trend Micro and one colleague from our company.

The vendor, McAfee, works with a partner and the partner sells to us. We use a partner.

We hired consultants to assist with our deployment. We have had a good experience with them and they are still supporting us to deal with any issues or errors.

We performed the implementation ourselves.

We implemented it ourselves. The technology is really easy to install, but you need to be cognizant of the events-per-second and be really critical around the type of events that you forward to the ESM appliance, ensure they are useful. From the second implementation, we followed advise by SANS, and now use a “use case” (events of interest) driven approach.

We used an in-house team with a vendor in-office assistant.

The local partner we had was not very experienced in implementing the solution. However, the solution was first implemented in our country.

I handled the deployment myself.

We have an internal team to maintain this solution.

Its deployment was done by an engineer in our company. 

We are a security team of five members. Whoever a ticket is assigned to handles the cases.

You will have a better implementation if you get support from the vendor.
