MEGA HOPEX Initial Setup

The initial setup was very straightforward. It was very easy to deploy. There isn't much of an installation. I simply had to log in and start using it.
View full review »The initial setup was complex. We have to make sure we have to add so many security items in between the encryption, for example. There is a list of steps given by MEGA that we have to follow. However, that is something a technical person can handle. Still, it is not straightforward or easy to install.
We can do it pretty quickly and easily if it is in a normal, thin-line application. You just click next, next, next, and it'll install the application. However, to make sure you deploy the web interface, web version, and everything, some guidelines are given. We have to configure everything, and we need to ensure that everything is in compliance with the company’s security policies.
The deployment will take one day. The installation is just five to 20 minutes of time. However, considering that things are dependent on multiple teams, you can’t actually execute anything in that amount of time. Sometimes we lose permission. Sometimes we allow permissions to the license file. There are many dependencies. That said, if everything is ready, then we can execute everything in one or two hours.
I am an experienced person. I have deployed the application on many servers and know what to expect, including dependencies and permissions. We need the local admin rights of the user, for example. We must ensure we keep every task in line and gain access. And then we can do the things within one and two hours. If you are experienced and know what to expect, you can reduce the amount of time it will take.

We didn't face any challenges during the setup process. We also procured configuration services, and the team assisting us has been actively helping us throughout the process.

I find the process relatively straightforward. The documentation is clear, and following the steps usually leads to a successful installation. I'd rate the difficulty level around 7 to 8.The deployment time varies depending on customer instructions and IT team responsiveness, but it's generally manageable within one hour. The deployment process involves downloading instructions, configuring the application server, installing MEGA, setting up the database, and launching the application. Some customers prefer using DNS names instead of IP addresses, requiring additional steps for certificate creation and DNS configuration.

Setting up MEGA HOPEX requires a substantial budget allocation to ensure its functionality and effectiveness.

I rate the setup of MEGA HOPEX a four out of five.
View full review »In the beginning, there was some complexity. We don't understand the benefit and the use of the tool. We defined a robot for business capabilities to be covered across all of the companies in the group. We are solving for the original lack of knowledge with a training process in the consulting services we have on offer.
We implement the solution with a partner and they have less than three people that help us. To use the tool, we need the technical staff to use the solution.
View full review »I was not involved when Mega was initially setup, however I am involved every year when we do the upgrade; we do an annual upgrade to another version.
I would say it's relatively straightforward. After doing it on an annual basis, you always run into a glitch at some point. Right now, we just upgraded and everyone is getting a message that their licenses are expiring because they didn't give us a new key. But Mega's aware, and they're getting us a new key. They're responsive. No major issues with it.

The initial setup is very easy, but it depends on type of deployment you want to do, whether it is standalone or otherwise. They have a file place database structure that they use and integrations for Oracle and Microsoft SQL servers.
The deployment guides are very good. You can just pick up any of the deployment guides. Once you have the license, just follow through and run the installation. The installation on both platforms is quite straightforward.
View full review »When I joined they had rolled out MEGA 2009 (the previous version). In 2011 I started off with adoption. My primary role was to ensure that the tool was adopted. We recently upgraded to HOPEX, so pretty much we had to start all over again.

The initial implementation has a moderate amount of difficulty. It's mostly easy, but there were a few items in the release I implemented that were challenging.
Deployment took us about three days. It didn't take too long.

The initial setup was straightforward. With configuration, customizing or prepping the data and deployment, it took about one year to set up. We only needed two people to deploy and maintain the solution: one business architect and someone who specializes in customization and operations.
Fairly straightforward. There were some steps in the documentation that were not clear but with tech support’s help we overcame the issues.

The initial setup for this solution was straightforward and easy.
We did have a problem with migration from an older version to a newer one. There was an issue where our administrator made an error and we lost data. We spoke with our partner and they suggested that we should pay because it was our mistake. In the end, we lost thirty percent of our data.

I have never set up a production site, although I have set up a development site. I can say that it wasn't easy but it wasn't hard, either. The difficulty and complexity of the initial setup is somewhere in the middle.
Deploying to the 200 sites took approximately two months.

The initial setup wasn't too complex, but it wasn't easy either. Sometimes you will need to get help from an engineer that has technical knowledge.
Deployment doesn't take too long. If the client doesn't have high compliance security, it will take between two or three weeks. It took us almost two months to do the upgrade. But it wasn't caused by the system. It was caused by the security compliance.
