We’re a customer and end-user.

I’d advise if a user is curious about the solution, they should first make sure that it fits their needs. They need to confirm how they will use it.

I’d recommend the solution as it is a world-class application.

I would rate the solution nine out of ten.

It supports real business needs and can be used in various sectors, like retail banking and space data. NASA is using this as per my knowledge, for example. The customized functionalities are all there. You only insert your data according to your requirements and it'll get through the standards and it'll produce the documents and the websites needed to publish to the customers.

MEGA has supported our IT portfolio management 100%. They have a portfolio management module where we load our application assets onto the tool.

It has a data domain where we load our data objects onto the tool but doesn't provide data governance capabilities such as cleansing or validating data. We ensure that the information we input is clean and accurate.

With these compliance management features, we've primarily focused on business architecture. We have yet to explore the GRC capabilities fully, as we only started in January. We'll begin exploring other capabilities once we document the business and application domains. Risk management is also an ongoing process, and we plan to utilize more robust features in the future.

To utilize MEGA effectively, you need to understand your architecture and be able to complete the templates. There are two ways to upload information: via templates or manual upload. You must know your way around the templates and understand what artifacts to upload onto the tool. Once you're comfortable with that, the process becomes easier.

I rate it a nine out of ten.

I rate MEGA HOPEX seven out of 10. It's too complex for users who lack experience with enterprise architecture. This is a tool for experts with advanced knowledge already. You need to know what you want to do it. It's better to start with another tool.

I'm a consultant and architect, so I'm using an architecture product called MEGA HOPEX.

MEGA HOPEX is deployed on-premises. The customer wanted to deploy it on the cloud but had to stick to an on-premise deployment because of sovereignty.

I'd recommend the tool for people with very critical use cases. Otherwise, you'll find more straightforward tools than MEGA HOPEX.

We are currently in the process of evaluating whether we should collaborate with MEGA or opt for another product. We are planning to utilize this tool for external purposes.

We are in the phase of avoiding redundancy and exploring its potential use cases. Primarily, we use it for business and application portfolio management, which is crucial for our operations. We're assessing our assets. We have another tool for asset management and are considering replacing it with MEGA.

We focus on transitioning towards a product-centric approach. Thus, all our business operations are aligned accordingly.

We can handle MEGA HOPEX. It's one of the best tools available. Another advantage is its accessibility; with MEGA HOPEX, We can use it anywhere. You can use BIN, PCE, Centograft, and more. MEGA HOPEX has its own proprietary standards that users must adhere to.

An additional model offers a constructive and guided approach to implementation. When dealing with an open-world scenario, convincing people can be challenging. Having a predefined model helps stakeholders understand the standards being followed. Alphabet or MEGA both fall under SysTrack. One of the best features of Abacus is the ability to select multiple models, which is essential when dealing with different business needs. It's important to recognize that one solution does not fit all requirements, so understanding how your specific requirements fit into the models is crucial.

I recommend MEGA HOPEX if the business context is straightforward and clear. Its stability depends on the audience you're interacting with and their technical or ER tool proficiency. If your audience isn’t tech-savvy, explaining MEGA HOPEX can be challenging.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

My advice to others is they should check the other solution because the price will be the most important for every company and the price of MEGA HOPEX is high. This is a disadvantage compared to other solutions. However, the solution works very well.

I rate MEGA HOPEX a nine out of ten.

Be very clear on what you need because MEGA has a lot to offer and if you are really going to be able to take advantage of MEGA's portfolio, then you should consider it. Be ready for the journey we went through which took 18 months to get to where we are at.

We have an agreement, a commercial agreement with MEGA, to support all the entities that are going to implement the solution.

We are a financial and insurance services industry company. We are focused on banks and insurance.

For new users, it's important that they understand the business architectural definitions and have knowledge of processes to gain the most value out of the solution. If the team that is evaluating the solution doesn't have such knowledge, there might be issues.

I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

Anyone looking to adopt an enterprise architecture or IT portfolio management solution like HOPEX should consider what aspects of the tool will help them achieve their objectives. Different aspects of the tool address different objectives. In the case that we just discussed, the HOPEX IT portfolio management capability, there's other capabilities as well, which we're currently using. Really determine what aspect of the tool that they would want to implement to really attain the objectives that they're looking to pursue, from either an architecture perspective or an IT portfolio management perspective.

I'll share some interesting observations with you. If any enterprise manages their IT portfolio in Excel, the data becomes dated literally after it's collected. Right after it's collected I give you the configuration of your room on an Excel spreadsheet. You may change your room, subsequent to my having persisted that configuration on an Excel spreadsheet. You may move a chair around, you may move a desk around. What ITPM allows us to do, is maintain that configuration in a current state. That is invaluable. Every time an enterprise has any kind of portfolio analysis, having a current view has tremendous value. It obviates having to collect that data again.

It impresses the regulators, because they want to know that you know what you have. The regulators want to know that you know what's in your room. Because of a tool like MEGA, we know that, and we can demonstrate that the data is current using the tool. That's very valuable - having that level of transparency. What it illustrates is that an enterprise is managing their IT assets.

My advice to anybody who is considering MEGA HOPEX is that it's a complete solution. All of the functionality is implemented. However, it is a complex product. Somebody who wants to use it should understand all of the functionality, but select only 20% of the concepts and use them very well. It's not necessary to use the full functionality and we spent too much time on the gain we received.

I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.

My advice is that if you have the budget for it, MEGA HOPEX is a fantastic tool. It will especially help you if you are heavily focused on process architecture. MEGA HOPEX maps your org structure and you can use that to build in your processes and then just directly house your processes into the org structure. This is just a fantastic workflow in terms of the engineering and the thinking behind its structure. The pricing is an issue, however. MEGA HOPEX could be more affordable. They could also create some form of community-based addition to allow a wider audience access and play around with the tool. I think this would be a welcome development.

Rating: 5-7 (out of 10). Primarily because of time to market. For instance, before we moved to HOPEX, reporting was meant to be a big thing. They said, "Hey, HOPEX is going to solve most of your reporting problems." We moved to HOPEX, we are still not there yet in terms of what our customers want. In terms of innovation and time to market, we would see a lot of improvement. The core competency from the product is great. Just marketing it and getting it in the hands of the people that will be using the tool, is still a struggle, at least in my enterprise.

Other advice to users: get a handle on the common features of the tool. Most people don't do that, so they essentially struggle if they don't go through that training process. I wish there were videos available from the vendor which we could use to bring people quickly onto the toolset. I would like to have them look at YouTube videos and say "In 15 minutes, you know how to get in, how to navigate and understand." That is something that is lacking, so for me, to give the tool to someone, there is a little bit of hesitation right away, because it puts more burden on me to train them, or my colleagues to train them.

Overall I would say that this platform, addresses the needs better than other solutions we have looked at, it requires less support. We only have myself and one other administrator that support it.

We have a very in-depth knowledge of the behind-the-scenes workings of the solution. I do know from personal experience that other solutions have more significant footprint of resources that would have to support it. From database people to administrators, etc.

Overall rating: 7-8 (out of 10). Stability is one shortfall and it's probably the major one. I would probably take somewhere between a point and a point and a half off for that. The other one is just the interface. The fact that we have to do some things through the full client on the server as opposed to being able to do everything from a web interface management platform is in the reach of another half a point to a point.

Know what you are trying to accomplish with it, to know what you need, and whether it can truly provide what you need. The best outcome that you can get is that you have that view into how everything is tied together. In other words, what should be out there in the architecture or what should be out there in the environment and what should be providing to support to support the business.

We don't use the solution on a large scale. We mainly just use it in the IT department. We're using the on-premises deployment solution.

Originally, about two years ago, we set up the solution, then we froze work on it. Recently we started it up again, but it needed to re-configure the solution because our business requirements had changed.

MEGA typically exceeds most of the needs of a client in terms of what they offer.

As for advice to others considering using this solution, I'd say this: you need to study the modules and to match them to your business requirements before you begin so you don't buy something you don't need or won't use. Make sure you know what you need before entering into an agreement.

I would rate the solution at eight out of ten but they need to enhance their way of filling the modules because as of right now, it's not ideal for the customer.

Collect accurate and up-to-date data about your environment before implementing an EA tool. Have an approach in terms of what objects to create in the tool in what order. Set up a sandbox environment to familiarize the architects and other users with the tool. Avoid creating extraneous objects in the production environment; start with small set of objects and artifacts that add value and will be used.

I would recommend contacting MEGA, asking questions and analyzing your requirements against the solution. MEGA has multiple language support and not only for technical support. The tool is also available in different languages. If your company needs enterprise architecture then you won't have any difficulty with MEGA.

I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.

This solution can be used for modeling, and the publication for employees to consult on the process and design. It can not be used to automate processes or create an application. Therefore, if you want it for enterprise architecture and modeling then it is a very good solution. On the other hand, if you want it for process automation then it is not.

When we migrated to this solution it was difficult. I don't think that we had enough documentation. We felt it was important to switch to the new version because the older one is no longer supported. The impression we have is that when you want to do something like a migration, they want you to pay extra consulting fees. For mid-sized companies, this is sometimes not in the budget.

It is a little bit frustrating that we do not have process automation. Without this, we cannot scale this solution to the new services of our company.

I would rate this solution a six out of ten.
