A standard, stable, and powerful product with easy deployment
Pros and Cons
  • "It is a standard and powerful tool. Because it is a standard tool, everybody uses it."
  • "Their support should be improved in terms of faster response and better resolution."

What is our primary use case?

Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook are the main solutions that we are using.

What is most valuable?

It is a standard and powerful tool. Because it is a standard tool, everybody uses it.

What needs improvement?

Their support should be improved in terms of faster response and better resolution. The price of its license should also be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Microsoft products for more than 20 years. We have a contract with Microsoft for software licensing.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable in the sense that if you need more users, you can increase the number of licenses. Currently, we have 16 users in our organization. We don't have any plan to increase its usage.

How are customer service and support?

I don't have a lot of experience with their support, but I don't like Microsoft's support. They are not fast, and they don't provide an exact solution.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have been using Microsoft solutions for a long time. In the beginning, we used Office 123 and WordPerfect in our company.

How was the initial setup?

It is easy to install. The duration depends on the network, but generally, we can do the installation in ten minutes.

What about the implementation team?

We do it ourselves. We have three people for deployment and maintenance. Two of them are engineers, but one of them is not.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of its license should be improved. We have a contract for three years, but we pay on a yearly basis.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others. I would rate Microsoft 365 Business a nine out of ten.

Has ongoing and fast development and integration with teams
Pros and Cons
  • "Microsoft 365 Business is stable and scalable, and the installation is straightforward as well."
  • "It's still not fully consistent among all the platforms running on Windows and IOS. It's getting better and better, but there's still a lot of consolidation or integration work to be done."

What is our primary use case?

We use the mail client, and we use PowerPoint 365 and Word 365 to produce documents, offers, and documents for our customers.

How has it helped my organization?

It helped a lot, especially with all of us working from the home office and still practically being as though we were at work in the office. That's what helped most.

What is most valuable?

The ongoing and fast development and integration with teams have been valuable features.

The cost for licensing is reasonable.

Microsoft 365 Business is stable and scalable, and the installation is straightforward as well.

What needs improvement?

Ongoing better integration would be good. It's still not fully consistent among all the platforms running on Windows and IOS. It's getting better and better, but there's still a lot of consolidation or integration work to be done.

More easily accessible training modules would be good to have. They exist, but you have to search for them. Ongoing user support and ongoing learning and education in the product, without being offensive, and making that access easier would be a big advantage over today's product. It should not be an aggressive offering, but it should be easy to find so that we don't have to dig for it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Microsoft 365 Business for about 5 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

With a few exceptions, that are actually lower than they used to be when Microsoft 365 Business was run on-premises, it is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We are a company of over 1,000 people, so we don't have any scalability problems. I have been in a mid-sized company or at the lower end of an enterprise with 10,000 people, and we had no scalability issues at all.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing cost is reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution at eight on a scale from one to ten.

There are still a lot of companies, especially small ones, that still rely on on-premises or on a small partner that delivers old style Windows Office environments hosted somewhere locally. I would really encourage all of them to move to Microsoft 365, maybe coached or managed by a third-party. I would suggest that they think in this new style and help and support the use of Microsoft 365, an IT commodity, and not think the old way that it has to be installed and maintained the old way.

Good security, scales well, and offers good integration capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The best thing about the product is the ecosystem of it. As most of our users are using Windows and it's a product of Microsoft, we find we get amazing performance."
  • "The user interface could be a bit better."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for its various applications, including Excel and Teams.

What is most valuable?

We like that it's a cloud-based solution that we can work with like a desktop application.

We really like it as a productivity tool. We get a lot of really great applications such as Excel, OneNote, Teams, and more. These types of tools are quite helpful to our day-to-day.

The best thing about the product is the ecosystem of it. As most of our users are using Windows and it's a product of Microsoft, we find we get amazing performance.

The integration between the apps is great. It's awesome that it's so interconnected even between users to make sharing easy.

The solution scales well.

There's good security on offer.

We've found the product to be quite stable so far.

What needs improvement?

I haven't encountered any issues with the solution so far.

The user interface could be a bit better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for about three to four months at this point. It hasn't been too long.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability has been very good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. it's reliable. The performance on offer is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of the solution is good. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so with relative ease.

Everyone in our organization is using the product. That's around 13,000 users.

We may increase usage in the future.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't faced any issues that required a call to technical support. I can't speak to how helpful or responsive they are, having never dealt with them directly.

How was the initial setup?

I didn't handle the installation personally. It was managed by our IT team. As I didn't participate in the process, I can't speak to how easy or difficult it was, or what the deployment process entailed. I'm not sure how long it took.

It's my understanding that a single person can handle the deployment process.

What about the implementation team?

Our company has an IT team that can handle the process in-house. We do not need the assistance of an integrator or a consultant.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is a license that you need to purchase in order to use the product.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I've taken a look at Google Suite, which is very similar to Office 365. While Microsoft is a paid product, Google does offer some of its services for free, therefore, it might make for a good option for a startup, for example. Microsoft Office is a better product and it integrates more completely with companies that use a lot of Microsoft within their business. Google doesn't integrate.

What other advice do I have?

We are Microsoft customers and end-users.

The solution really does meet all of our requirements, and we've found that it's an improvement on just Outlook.

Overall, the product has been amazing. I would rate it at a ten out of ten.

Flexible, stable, and very user friendly
Pros and Cons
  • "The flexibility of the solution is excellent."
  • "Microsoft Teams for Mac isn't good enough just yet. It's an aspect of the solution they can still work on."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for many office tasks which are normal Office 365 activities. This includes emails, spreadsheets, presentations, and those sorts of tasks.

What is most valuable?

The applications across office tasks are very helpful. Being able to make spreadsheets and presentations and using its email services are all very helpful.

The solution is very stable. The performance is good.

The flexibility of the solution is excellent.

We've found that the solution is very user-friendly. It's easy to navigate and isn't overly technical.

The initial setup is nice and easy.

What needs improvement?

I cannot recall coming across missing features. I don't have an opinion on what they should add to future releases.

Microsoft Teams for Mac isn't good enough just yet. It's an aspect of the solution they can still work on.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've basically used the solution since the very beginning. It's been a few years at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have found the stability to be very good. The performance is great. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is quite scalable. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so with ease.

We have about seven people on the solution, currently.

We do plan to increase usage if and when we do add staff to our organization.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never actually been in contact with technical support. I can't speak to how knowledgeable or responsive they are. I simply don't any experience with them.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was not overly complex or difficult. It's very straightforward. It's easy. It shouldn't be too difficult for a company to set everything up.

I cannot recall the amount of time it took to deploy.

What about the implementation team?

When it was first installed, it was done by a third-party IT supplier. I wasn't a part of the implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We do pay a licensing fee to Microsoft. I can't speak to the exact cost. I cannot say if it is paid monthly or yearly.

What other advice do I have?

I'm using primarily the desktop version.

I'd rate the solution at a ten out of ten. We've been very happy with its capabilities.

I'd recommend the solution to other users and companies.

Easy to scale, with excellent technical support and good stability
Pros and Cons
  • "With Power BI and Power Applications you can do a lot of our automation within IT. It makes everything much quicker."
  • "The initial setup is slightly complex."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for cooperation between employees and core team operations. It's the most important use case for us.

We use it for data exchange and data storage under One Drive, for example.

What is most valuable?

The automation capabilities on offer are very good. With Power BI and Power Applications you can do a lot of our automation within IT. It makes everything much quicker.

The product allows for a good overview of our data.

The stability has been very good so far.

As a software as a service model, it is very easy to scale as required.

Technical support is quite helpful and very responsive.

What needs improvement?

The cost could be a bit better.

Policy integration could be improved in the current infrastructure and the current applications.

The initial setup is slightly complex.

There could be better integration capabilities. This could be simplified. There are lots of applications that could potentially be integrated if only the capabilities were there to do so.

In general, we don't feel that there are any missing features per se. They do have a very good offering of applications.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for about three or so years. It's been a while at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution has been very stable. We haven't had issues with bugs or glitches. I haven't found that it crashes or freezes. It's pretty reliable in terms of its performance.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have about 8,000 users on the solution currently. It has been easy to scale for us. We haven't had any problems in that regard. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so with relative ease. It's a software as a service model, which makes it easy to scale up or down.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support has been very good. They are very skillful people, and they really do try to help when you have queries. We've been very happy with the level of services we receive. They are very responsive.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was pretty complex. There were a lot of interfaces to have a look at, and a lot of people were involved. Each had its own ideas as to how to best handle things. To bring everyone together and focused on one point was a challenge.

The deployment process took about a year.

The maintenance isn't too bad. There are just regular checkups needed here or there. It's not intensive.

What about the implementation team?

We had assistance from the vendor. They were very helpful in terms of deploying the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is average, however, every product is expensive. We'd like it to be less, of course.

There aren't operational costs over and above the licensing, however, there are a few costs here and there that are extra - such as implementation costs and some special requirement costs.

What other advice do I have?

We are just a customer and an end-user. We don't have a business relationship with Microsoft.

We use universal updates. The solution is typically on the latest version. The cloud deployment is constantly automatically updated.

I would advise potential new users to prepare carefully on the business side. It's not just the technical implementation. It's how it will be used for business. There needs to be a plan in place. The most challenging part is simply making the business as a whole - including end-users - comfortable with the product.

I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten.
