Microsoft 365 Business Valuable Features

Previously, you had the inconvenience that if you sent an Excel file to someone, you could not work together on the same file, and now you can. With the components that we have available, several people can be working on the same document, at the same time, doing the changes, doing the updates that they need to do. It makes the collaboration and the work more efficient.

We can touch base with our clients and we can touch base internally with our solutions without impacting the work or suffering from a lower speed. The performance and the efficiency of our planning and roadmap are extremely good.

The solution can scale up or down easily to meet the needs of any organization.

The solution is stable.

The initial setup is pretty straightforward.

Technical support is quite helpful and responsive.

Feature-wise, everything is okay. We are getting the latest version of the application. You also don't need to manage anything. Everything is running at the backend.

The best part is that even if there is a failure in the on-prem active directory, users can still access mails. You can configure MFA easily and protect the mailboxes. Integrity and confidentiality are there. In this aspect, I am very happy with Microsoft.

The most useful is the analytics feature. Once you create and circulate the form, you collect the data. It'll give you analytics. When we use Outlook for email purpose, all the received file gets stored in a folder so you can access them from anywhere. We go, search, we'll get it. It is accessible and easy to use.

You can record the meeting in Microsoft Teams. It is the same as Google Meet.

The two biggest value adds of the solution are having the ability to outsource the email and not having to manage the email server. It's just seamless. Having the most current versions all around and having things updating frequently by themselves ensures that everybody's got access to the same software.

In the past, we had a lot of problems with who was updated and so forth. It eliminates that problem and allows us to put it on multiple devices. It's a pretty good offering from that respect.

I enjoy using Teams, Outlook, the forms that are provided, and SharePoint because it connects all of us within the team.

We are able to share all of our worksheets, and the collaboration is valuable. This is what makes the Teams feature the part I enjoy the most in this solution.

The storage, cloud storage, and forms are very useful.

There is a lot of documentation available that is easy to comprehend and follow.

It's helpful to even use it to build queries, like Microsoft queries. We can write SQL queries by joining two tables present in Excel itself. So, it's like having two tables in separate sheets, and we can build a query using a common column as a join condition. We can see the key dataset with common columns using the join condition.

Moreover, we can also perform outer joins, making Microsoft 365 Business ideal for data analysis as well.

These are the main things that help the business collaborate.

  • At the same time, you can share files, you can send emails on the spot, and you can also assign meetings on the spot.
  • You can have conference calls with different parties using video and voice.

It saves a lot of time. When opening a new business, you need the main server, file sharing, and you need to secure them.

Not only to have them there on-site or on-premises, you need to have them backed up, and archived. So rather than going for a new place, with a new Internet, we go to Cloud and it will provide everything that we need.

You're not restricted to a certain place or certain country. You can work from any place on Earth, from any device, without having your laptop.

This is one of the main factors, and that it is secured. This is also a big advantage.

They have already made some improvements to the interface and dashboards that have made a positive impact.

Microsoft 365 Business is a really good product. Microsoft provides many solutions like Microsoft Teams, which is useful for Team utilization across the globe, especially in this COVID 19 kind of scenario.

If you enable the enhanced security in Microsoft Teams by using the given options, you can eliminate the third-party solutions like WhatsApp, Telegram. You can easily share your communication, which is much better. You can also collaborate. For example, instead of creating an Excel sheet on your local PC and sending it across to someone over email, you can just share it. SharePoint is one of the best tools to be implemented.

The integration between all of the apps is helpful.

We're using Excel quite a bit, including Visual Basic, including macros, including all kinds of features there, to do reporting and to generate various reports. This is being used, it is good, and its functionality is great.

Microsoft Project is also used quite a bit and we like how easy it is.

However, some things and applications are still not up to speed. For example, I'm talking to you through a Jabra earpiece. If I speak via Skype for Business, and I want to end the conversation, I can press a button on my earpiece and it drops the call. Skype on Teams doesn't work this way.

I find Microsoft Office 365 initial setup is very easy.

The stability is pretty good.

I used to use 365 when I was at IBM, and, at later stages in my career, at other companies. I used to have my own license at home. Now, I have my own consulting firm. Recently, I got a laptop. I felt that transferring all the information from one laptop to the other was a painful experience. I got 365, as it is in the cloud, and due to that, I can just download my user information and I'm ready to go.

The solution is stable.

I like that it is easy to transfer to different devices, such as a different laptop. Everything is cloud-based, which I appreciate.

I like that the standard solution is easy and intuitive. It's worth taking the time to go and poke around all the other apps, though.

There are rules of engagement that are important to know and it can be overwhelming at first if you're never been a Sysadmin. The Apps within the solution provide different business functions so you don't have to hire anyone - you can actually do most of it yourself. It's a huge cost saving for a small business and with the subscription, it's actually much cheaper than buying the products outright, as you would have had to do in the past. You can get everything you need for a reasonable price e.g. if you wanted, say, five features/ functionality you'd pay between $100 and $1000 for each, potentially spending close to $5000 once off but then next year arrives and you need to buy the next version and again you're spending precious funds. Instead, with subscription plans, you get between ~20 features/ functions. My plan, plus the add-on Apps costs my business $12.50x2 + $30 +$9.99  per month = $780 annually - the key is TODAY'S cash stays in my pocket.

You have to buy licenses for everything, but the pricing structure is very competitive. From a small business perspective, there's lots of advantages to going with 365, because not only are you getting the standard tool set to actually just run a standard business, but you're getting add-on Apps/features that open up opportunities that you might not have thought of and... the realization that you don't have to pay another entity because you can do it yourself e.g. sway and bookings

I've used Microsoft for the last maybe 25 years to 30 years. I just use it due to the fact that that's what we're using at work. I have no choice. That's what we're using. Overall, over the years, I've been happy to use it. After so long, I've grown comfortable with the interface and how it works.

The solution is stable.

The solution has amazing integration, however, I never use that aspect.

The most valuable features are that it is quite robust and is a collaborative model. For example, if I have opened a file in Word or Excel, every member of the organization who is logged in with their accounts at that same time can collaborate on the same document. We don't have to create multiple copies.

I like auto-server mode and the fact that you can unify them under one platform.

The fact that they are able to save directly to cloud storage and collaborate is something that is helpful.

The features that I like best with Microsoft 365 Business are that the files are available offline. When I start Confluence, when I'm on the go, let's say on the plane, I can still modify my files and then when I get to coverage they are synchronized with the cloud. That makes it really strong. Then of course there is the Office support. You need to buy Office products anyway these days and it's actually coming in a bundle.

There are a couple features that I have found most valuable. Recording is a major feature for us, at least internally. It took a lot of conversations and I can't type that fast. We are able to capture and then go back and repeat. Dictation is huge. I use that on client calls when the client is speaking, I can give you a play-by-play of that conversation, with their permission, of course. Then the obvious features, Outlook and email are just spot on. I never have any glitches there. It's sent and received within the timeline of five seconds and life is good.

With Office, the interface is now more user-friendly than the previous versions of Microsoft Office. The functionality and ability to work offline are also great. There are more helpful tools in the interfacer now. For example, if you are working with Excel and you are typing a formula, Office 365 gives you tips as you work if you do something wrong. It will identify what is wrong and then you can apply the corrections. Things like that make the product more intuitive and helpful. The previous version did not have that kind of help to this extent. So, the most valuable features are the ability to work offline, the ability to have tips when writing formulas, and the improved more user-friendly interface.

I believe one thing I enjoy more about the experience of using the product is that it now the basic features that I use most frequently are easier to find, access, and manage. This helps to make my work easier and speed up productivity.

Excel is a very powerful tool. I can create a lot of data in Microsoft Excel and then use it and extract the data in any analytics platform.

It is a complete tool. It gives me every kind of feature that I want. It's quite good.

When you talk about ease of use, it's relative. I have been using Microsoft products for a long time. I have grown with it and the product has grown with me. I feel comfortable. But, for someone with no background in IT that doesn't have the dexterity to play with the IT tools, they may find it difficult to use.

When you get used to it, it's like picking up a paper and a pen and drafting it. You can use many more features. Paper and pen are used to exemplify simplicity.

When using PowerPoint, I want to create a very illustrative presentation. I can draw many pictures globally with several designs. It's flexible. After preparing the presentation, I can preview the form and share it with people.

It's very user-friendly.

I can use this product on five devices. I can use it on my mobile, and I have two laptops. I can access it from any one of my devices, even if I am commuting or in another country, I can access all of my documents.

Microsoft OneNote is also included. I can create my shopping list, or go on a trip, and make all of my notes accessible on all devices.

One thing that's nice with Office applications, Excel, PowerPoint,  is that  Microsoft and Esri, the manufacturer of ArcGIS, based in California, they have collaboration that provides ArcGIS tools, a mapping technology, within MS Office software.  You can easily drag maps into PowerPoint, for example, or use ArcGIS in Excel to put location context to information. You can immediately access ArcGIS while working within the environment of these tools provided that ArcGIS is on board as well.

Office applications have been the dominant application for business. In the Philippines, most of the applications are in the MS Office suite. One would want to build skills on these tools as they are what is required and in use in organizations. Doing this increases qualification.

Deputy Manager at a tech services company with 51-200 employees

The solution's dashboard is its most valuable aspect.

The product is very user-friendly in general. It's not complicated to use. They've made everything very easy and intuitive.

The product is very direct. Having the application on the phone, downloading it to your mobile device, makes it also easier to connect to your email, to receive an email, and of course, send emails. Since it's on your device, you can use it remotely and have access to everything you need.

The product is very secure. It's safe to use and Microsoft offers good security to protect its users.

The stability of the product is excellent.

You can scale the solution if you need to.

The initial setup is not a complicated process. The cloud makes it very easy.
