Microsoft Azure DevOps Other Solutions Considered
We did not evaluate other options.
View full review »We conducted evaluations of other vendors as well, with Jira emerging as the strongest contender at that time. When considering an on-premises solution, particularly for internal team collaboration, an internal instance of Jira suffices, leveraging available compute units and VMs within the organization. However, for external client collaboration, especially when teams are geographically dispersed, Azure DevOps in the cloud presents a more viable option. Additionally, Azure DevOps offers an intuitive interface for efficient project management and source code integration. From a cost perspective, Azure DevOps proves to be more economical, priced at seven dollars per user.

We're currently looking at VersionOne and CollabNet just to see how they compare to what we currently use, which includes Microsoft Azure DevOps.
I'm new to this company. I've been here only for a year. The previous company, I was using Agile Central, which I really liked because of the user interface. Central was previously called Rally. However, after coming to this company, as they have Jira, I've been using Jira and also, for this one project, Microsoft Azure DevOps. I need to begin considering what I should do at an enterprise level. I'm looking at a variety of options including Microsoft DevOps, VersionOne, CollabNet, and a few more.
Since we have Microsoft Azure DevOps already in place, I would like something that's similar and competitive.

We are currently evaluating both Jira and DevOps against each other. We use both in several development units. Lately, I've been looking for some comparisons and reviews, and material regarding those platforms and the comparison between them. I'm wondering to myself whether it's good for our company to have both, or to choose one of them to be the standard platform of our company. That's the main subject that I'm interested in.

No, we did not evaluate any other options since we are heavily tied to the Microsoft stack. However over time, we have adopted other platforms (Java, Node, Python and others) since Azure DevOps is cross platform compatible with Linux, Windows, iOS and Andriod.

View full review »We looked at Jira Confluence and it was our second option. On Jira, we have our environment in Azure, and it was easier to adopt Azure DevOps instead of Confluence. Because Confluence is specifically for Azure DevOps, we can integrate it with everything that we are already using.

We use both JIRA and DevOps. The main difference between DevOps and JIRA is the test cases. You can have test cases in DevOps but not in JIRA. And, DevOps has advantages in terms of executing those test cases. You can develop releases from DevOps but not from JIRA. At the same time, JIRA's jQuery is the best. I don't like the grouping and filtering in DevOps.

Currently, we're evaluating both GitLab and Microsoft. We're trying to get a sense of which one is better for us.

I have had the opportunity to use a variety of different solutions and it has not really come down to a situation where one is replaced with another. There is an ongoing evaluation of the products as newer technology including the most well known, like AW, Google, and Azure. AWS is the most expensive cloud hosting. In my estimation, that is the best product right now, but things are changing quickly.

We are switching from Microsoft Azure DevOps to GitLab because we have the infrastructure and we are migrating part of our service to on-premise which includes our VMs. We decided to install GitLab because it is open-source, free, we can install it in-house, and we have some members that have experience with that product. We are now starting to migrate some projects.

No Visual Studio Team Services and Visual code were the preferred options.
I have worked with other products, and this is the best solution in the market in 2019.

We tried other tools, but Azure DevOps has a richer toolset, and it fits in better with our process. To some extent, as we are a Microsoft partner, we didn't seriously consider other options. However, we did look at Jira and Gitlab as potential alternatives.

We did look at Jira briefly, however, it didn't look that different from DevOps and we knew many of our team members were already comfortable with this solution so we didn't pursue it.
