Microsoft Azure Object Storage Other Advice

PankajKumar13 - PeerSpot reviewer

We're a gold partner with Microsoft.

I'd rate the solution nine out of ten due to the ADLS integration and the different authentication mechanisms that we have.

We need to make sure that the data which we are storing in those storage objects is highly secured. That is where Azure is providing us with the best features. We can go with the different mechanisms like its Nexus security or the AD authentication. Or, they also provide us admin encryption, including the transparent keys. With transparent encryption, we can encrypt based on customer-based keys. Those are also some good features that make it a really great product.

I am working with the latest version of Microsoft Azure Object Storage. Microsoft Azure Object Storage is a cloud-based solution.

Since Microsoft Azure Object Storage is a cloud-based solution, users should ensure they have a good bandwidth for uploading. Most internet service providers provide far better download speed than uploading speed. If you use the solution frequently, ensure that your uploading speed is updated with your downloading speed.

Microsoft Azure Object Storage is a very good solution if you need to safely store large datasets on the cloud.

Overall, I rate Microsoft Azure Object Storage an eight out of ten.

Microsoft Azure Object Storage is currently deployed on a private cloud, but my company will eventually deploy it on the public cloud.

My company doesn't have direct users accessing Microsoft Azure Object Storage because the target is to write data on it on the object bucket.

I can recommend Microsoft Azure Object Storage to others, but I'll base my recommendation on the use case.

Based on what I'm using it for, my rating for the solution is nine out of ten.

My parent company has a partnership with Microsoft Azure Object Storage.

I would recommend it. But I would also suggest that you check your requirements, and then we can discuss things like performance optimization, security, and stability. Also, consider cost optimization and potential interruptions. Once you're satisfied with those things, it will be easy for you to go for it.

Overall, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Using Microsoft Azure Object Storage depends on the specific use case. For storing numerous small files in the cloud, object storage like this is excellent -persistent, flexible, and generally a good fit. However, for tasks involving deep data analytics or databases, it is more of a case-by-case decision. Evaluating your specific needs and how well the solution aligns with them is crucial. Overall, I would rate the solution as an eight out of ten.

It is one of the best features or resources, especially for people who want to use Blob Storage for unstructured data. For us, it is a very cost-effective resource since we can understand it easily. I haven't experienced any issues with this solution for the past five to six years. I rate this solution a nine out of ten.

Though the information is available on the website, most customers do not understand the technical aspects. A better way to explain the tool's uses would be through pictures. Overall, I rate the product an eight and a half out of ten.

The company I worked for was a Microsoft gold partner. We were Azure partners as well.

We use a private cloud deployment. There were some sensitive products that were supposed to only be available as a part of the private cloud, even though they were in the Azure cloud, they were fully accessible from the internal network.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

The solution and AWS are the most stable options in the public cloud domain so I recommend either depending on use case. A cost analysis will determine which option is the best fit.

Services are more feasible with one cloud provider as opposed to multiple cloud providers at the same time.

We're customers and end-users.

It's a very powerful tool. I love the fact that Microsoft was really committed to improving it. Therefore, from the early days that we started using it, we can actually see that continuously there are changes and improvements. They do listen to their customers. They really try to make sure that they have a best-in-class product.

Microsoft would be very good for very big organizations. In terms of KNIME, the good thing is you can actually scale it down with a small organization that doesn't want to really go really big. They both work and they're complementary.

I would rate it eight out of ten.

Azure Object Storage is a product that I strongly recommend for storing all of your unstructured data. Similarly, if you don't know what kinds of data you need to store, then this is the right choice. It also does well if you have massive volume.

There is an IoT hub that is going to be released and my hope is that it includes many advanced features.

In terms of Azure and the actual version we are using, don't know what it is. We are using the cloud of Azure and I don't know if there is a concept of a version for cloud deployments. That said, the software, Veeam, that we are using is on-premises to do the backup and it's version 10.

Overall, I would rate this product at an eight out of ten.

We had a lot of problems in the beginning, and a lot of these problems were due to our implementation partner using a local S3 block storage provider. They were not able to restore the backups. However, Azure is a very good solution in general and we've had a very positive experience since we've finished the implementation itself.

I'm not sure which version of the solution we are currently using.

In terms of if other organizations should use the solution, I'd say that the question is, do they understand what they prefer. They need to understand the data they want to store and if they will need regular access to it. If they need the data to be easily accessible daily, they need to go for a Hot Tier. If they feel like they would be better off archiving, they need to look for a Cold Tier. The difference between the two is huge.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.
