Microsoft BitLocker acts like a gatekeeper application that ensures computer security. It prevents unauthorized access and goes beyond security measures to safeguard the computer. It provides protection at a basic level.

It's the same BitLocker that we use in Sophos. Maybe the feature we like the best is file encryption.

The connectivity is in the cloud, therefore this is a good solution as we have, the real-time status of all machines.

The interface is user-friendly.

The initial setup is very simple.

Overall, it is a good solution.

We need to understand many security requirements. We chose Bitlocker due to the fact that we had Windows 10 and needed something that could centralize everything for users. We have a team that is able to handle the maintenance easily.

It is easy to use and administer.

The initial setup was straightforward.

The solution is stable.

It's available via Windows 10.

It can scale well.

You have to do a bit of reading to understand the logic; however, after that, it becomes pretty straightforward to use it.

Feature-wise we have the ability to encrypt fast. This means when you enforce the policy and when you onboard a device via the Azure AD, it comes online pretty quickly. The speed at which BitLocker engages is pretty strong. That's a significant thing. You can even control your external devices, like your USB devices. You can allow or deny, or even encrypt those devices. There are lots of useful things like that available in this product.

It provides a comprehensive level of protection against unauthorized access.
It holds significant value as it reduces the need for extensive IT management to handle security across networks and environments. Its significance goes beyond BitLocker alone; it encompasses the entire product suite or platform.

I like BitLocker because it gives us strong encryption to protect our data. The fact that it uses a 256-bit key with AES makes the encryption super secure. It is kind of like having a tough lock on our digital stuff. Additionally, it is easy to use, which is a big plus. The application doesn't make things complicated, and that makes it convenient for everyone to keep their computers and files safe without a lot of hassle.

One significant aspect is that without the BitLocker key, you can't log in to the user's laptop. I appreciate the capability to encrypt the user's hard drive, ensuring access only with the recovery key. In an enterprise setup, we store all BitLocker keys on our server.

So, whenever a user attempts to log in, the architecture authenticates with the key. This ensures that our data is secure. Even if the user's laptop is lost, we have confidence that the data remains inaccessible. So far, our user data is well-protected.

Before logging into the system, we enable Microsoft BitLocker so that the data will be automatically encrypted.

The best feature of Microsoft BitLocker is how it encrypts the data. The solution has a feature that automatically asks the users to upgrade their password once we set up the process. Microsoft BitLocker will not allow users to have the same password for the next five to six times.

It is easy to use. It is usually easy to recover someone's privacy. The manageability is much easier than McAfee. I think that Microsoft is a leader in this area. We are in the Microsoft school so our judgment of McAfee will be a little bit unfair as we recommend Microsoft all the time because of the easy manageability and support. I think that McAfee is designed for a different customer and every time we open a ticket with their support, it takes a very, very long time. The main difference is just the manageability and support. In terms of the solution itself or the functionality, I know that McAfee is very strong, but manageability and support, for us, is much more important. It strengthens the solution for us.

The most valuable feature is the TPM (Trusted Platform Module), which makes the PC security stronger because somebody who is not from the team cannot access the PC without the decryption PIN. If the hard drive is removed from the computer then the data is still encrypted, and even a USB key can be protected by using this solution. This makes my customers very happy.

This solution is not cost-effective and it is easy to implement.

It is very easy to deploy BitLocker on machines that are running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 because it can be done automatically.

It is free and native to the OS. We don't have to worry about upgrades or maintaining the product. You encrypt the disk, and you save the recovery key. That's it. The person puts their password in, and after that, it is up to them. If they forget their password, they have to bring it in to get it unlocked.

1. Bitlocker is easy to use. You start the wizard by right-clicking the drive and selecting “Turn on Bitlocker”. 2. Bitlocker encrypts the content of any drive and makes your data secure and safe. 3. The option of using either strong passphrase or smartcard to encrypt/decrypt the drive bring flexibility in terms of choice 4.
