Microsoft Dynamics GP Stability

VB
Business Development Manager - Microsoft Dynamics 365 at a retailer with 10,001+ employees

It is a stable solution because everything is on the user's machine. You cannot change anything without the security permissions, and you have to do it on all the machines individually.

We encountered issues on the first day related to the stability of operating systems. Dynamic 365 is recommended to be set up on the next version of Microsoft Windows, but some of our devices had older versions. As a result, we had to change the operating system on some machines to align with the requirements of 365. I would rate it an eight out of ten.

Since our organization operates globally with multiple companies scattered across the world, the primary challenge we face is connectivity issues. In a distributed setup like ours, dealing with internet disconnections or instability can hinder our work significantly. It's essential to have a solution that allows us to perform our tasks seamlessly without worrying about such interruptions. I would rate its on-premise stability capabilities nine out of ten.

The clients sometimes have problems with stability but it's usually the problems with their servers. I You know, I've had to convince clients to basically move their GP installations to a hosted server environment where real IT people manage the servers because sometimes companies think they just put a server in the closet and forget about it. But The program and software itself is very reliable.

The solution is quite stable due to the fact that it's on-premise. It has maintenance utilities within itself, so you can just go in and run some maintenance or schedule it for daily backups and stuff like that. We don't experience bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

All types of software have some minor or major issues and we can manage with them. However, stability is important when the product is delivered. For this product, I would give the stability a rating of 8/10.
