Microsoft Exchange Online Other Advice
I chose to use Microsoft Exchange Online because of the disaster recovery, and clustering, and to make sure that our users are eligible for the business continuity process.
This solution is good if you have a critical business, you don't want to have any kind of down communication, you are located in multiple regions, your IT team is not large enough to maintain an Exchange on-premise servers or you don't have the large infrastructure to have clusters.
I rate Microsoft Exchange Online a nine out of ten.

Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.
Microsoft is an amazing organization with unique solutions. They don't compromise on security, and that's important. It's also very easy to use. The interface is simple and clear. You can even switch to dark mode if you prefer. Now, the cost might be a concern for some, but it's relative.
Security-wise, there are frequent updates, especially when compared to other options. So, it's user-friendly, easy to use, and has a simple UI. That's what I can recommend.

Most of our customers use Microsoft Exchange Online, which is a great solution because it reduces the headache of technical support. Very few users who deal with the government still use the solution's on-premise version. I would recommend the solution to other users to send and receive emails. It's a very great solution.
Overall, I rate the solution ten out of ten.
Initially, the solution is useful. However, I recommend exploring alternative propositions that are easier and more efficient. Conducting periodic tests could be beneficial in making informed choices.

I prefer to use solutions like LibreOffice since they are free and cheaper, but our partners might have problems reading our data, and we would face difficulties cooperating.
The main problem with Microsoft products is that we get very dependent on them. Until 2016, I had to make decisions for the budget for the Southwest of Germany, and when you work with Microsoft, your budget is fixed to them, and you lose your ability to work with other solutions. That was a bad situation for us.
If you don't plan to use other solutions in the future, it's a good product. Otherwise, you have to be prepared that some problems may arise. Once you get married to Microsoft, it's a fierce divorce if you want to leave. I rate the solution an eight to nine out of ten.

The feature of Microsoft Exchange Online I found to be the most beneficial for team collaboration stems from the integration capabilities. Microsoft Exchange Online can integrate with products like Microsoft Teams or Windows Live.
I have seen that Microsoft Exchange Online's dashboard ensures the aggregation of all the integrated items in a single interface. I think my company has to order Microsoft Teams and apply for it separately to be used on a product like Microsoft Exchange Online.
The security and compliance features of Microsoft Exchange Online have impacted our company's business operations as it is a good tool for business needs, and I haven't seen any major issues with it in any of the items provided. I have also not had any negative reviews or complaints about the product from our company's teams.
I use the solution's calendar functions for my scheduling needs. but I don't know how it offers any support.
The tool's integration capabilities were used for the benefit of the management of the areas attached to the solution from a single place.
I rate the overall tool a nine out of ten.

I’m a customer. I don't have any direct relationship with Microsoft.
I’d rate the solution a nine out of ten.
It's an excellent product. It's an excellent mail system. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. If you are under 5,000 employees, I would say that Microsoft 365 is the way to go. If you're over 3,000 or 5,000 employees, I would have some serious conversations about on-prem versus cloud. Once you get over about 3,000 or 5,000 employees that are mail users, the cloud really starts to get much more expensive than on-prem.

More than two thousand people use Microsoft Exchange Online in my company of four thousand employees.
At the moment, there's no plan of increasing usage of the product because of the current crisis.
In terms of whether I would recommend Microsoft Exchange Online to others, with the integration it has, it depends on the focus of the company. For small markets, Microsoft Exchange Online is "too big" because it has a lot of services and you'll be paying for services provided in the package, with some you don't get to use. For end users, this would be difficult, but for companies, especially bigger ones that would have a choice, Microsoft Exchange Online is a good product. My recommendation would depend on the case because every user is different, for example, the purpose is different, the business is different, etc.
My rating for Microsoft Exchange Online is seven out of ten.
View full review »I rate Exchange Online seven out of 10. There's no alternative to it unless you want to use some Unix system, like Apache. People don't use Apache for wide-stream things like email and stuff like that. The only equivalent is a Linux-based or Unix-based solution, and who wants to do that?

Earlier, we had the solution on-premises, and then we migrated to the cloud. The solution helped with the planning and time management within our organization by providing everything that Outlook offers to end users, including email and calendar.
The solution does not provide 100% security, and some emails are still detected as malicious by our other endpoint security solution. Microsoft Exchange Online does not require any maintenance from our side.

We currently have between six and seven thousand daily users.
The solution
The solution doesn't require any maintenance. The solution is a cloud platform and everything is taken care of by Microsoft, so there is no maintenance required. It's maintenance-free.
I recommend the solution. As soon as you know what your needs are, you can go ahead with Microsoft Exchange Online. You don't need any demonstration of features, and you don't need to do any POCs.
I think the solution is pretty reasonable in what it does. In terms of mobile applications, that is Microsoft Outlook for Android and iOS integration, which can make some integration to Microsoft Teams application, which is already prospected in the desktop application. If they can have it in mobile application also, that would be good. But as a solution, I couldn't think of any new features that are required presently.

Principal Cloud Architect at a manufacturing company with 1,001-5,000 employees
Since the project was finished, I'm no longer in an administrative role with Exchange Online. I have passed it on to other colleagues. The administration part is no longer in my hands, for which I'm quite grateful. I don't have to do the daily tasks anymore. My main job is to be the principal cloud architect for the company. I'm, to a lesser extent, concerned with daily administration tasks.
I'd recommend potential new users just go ahead and do it. It reduces the on-site administration chores by quite a bit. It's reliable enough to be used without second thoughts for business if you can handle the cost that comes with it, as Exchange or the whole Office 365 is not exactly cheap, especially when you count in the cost for security-related services that come with Office 365 if you pay for them.
I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten. It works well, just not perfectly.

The solution is an SaaS cloud-based solution.
There are a thousand-plus users making use of the solution in our organization.
I would recommend the solution to others, although this depends on the capacity one is interested in and whether he utilizes another solution. For someone who wants the complete bouquet of the solution, he can go with Office 365. There are others solutions which are geared to one who is only interested in email capabilities. There are many cloud-based solutions available, although these vary with the needs of the organization. Office 365 is geared towards someone who is looking for a complete collaboration suite. Someone who is not looking for this is advised to go with another solution.
