Microsoft Intune Pricing
Earlier, Microsoft used to give the license using the MSDN subscription, now the subscription part uses the M365 E3/E5. Existing E5 license holders for M365, Intune, and Azure, receive a free license.
The pricing of Endpoint Manager is fine. The licensing is not that complex, but small and midsized organizations might have challenges with the pricing plans. There are a lot of categories—E2, E3, E5—to choose from.
The minimum starts at $2 to $3 per user, per month and it goes up to $14 to $15 per month. It depends on your requirements.

However, some features included in Microsoft's Intune might be 50 percent more expensive if purchased separately from another vendor. Specifically, if we consider upgrading Azure Active Directory or Entra to the P2 level, adding Intune capabilities, and acquiring the full Intune suite, Microsoft offers a significantly lower per-user cost compared to external vendors. With Microsoft, it's just a couple of dollars per user, while external vendors typically charge $10-$14 per user for similar functionality.
I would rate the price a four out of ten with ten being the most expensive.

Intune's pricing is competitive. For example, the license of Blackberry's Enterprise Mobility Suite was costly, but Intune is affordable. It is included as an additional feature when you buy security enhancements for your organization. For example, let's say I have fifty users in my organization and all of them are using Microsoft cloud services, like Teams, Office 365, and OneDrive.
In order to protect this, I'm going to buy the EMS E3, which includes security and also the option to utilize Microsoft Intune. I don't need to buy an additional license for software and device management. I can do all of this with the same license I bought for Microsoft security.

View full review »Intune has a cost advantage if you get it with a bundled Microsoft license. If you have E3 licenses, you already have access to Intune, so you're not paying anything extra. That's a huge savings right there. Back in the day, people always wanted Office, but they didn't wanna pay for it, so you would use Open Office. That was my go-to 10 years ago. Now, I recommend the opposite. You need an Office 365 account. Don't think it is as paying for Office. That's not what you're buying.
For $7 dollars a month, you're getting a terabyte of storage in OneDrive and all the apps. You won't get that from Google. It's about cost, and it's even better if you get those bonuses with it.

I find the pricing for Microsoft Intune to be quite reasonable. It is available through various licensing options, including E5 Enterprise, E3 Enterprise, and as a standalone product. E5 Enterprise provides Intune as part of a bundled package, while E3 Enterprise offers it separately. Microsoft offers several licensing options, allowing organizations to choose the one that suits their specific needs. Before deploying, there is a free trial period of one month where you can test it with up to 50 devices. Once you have an understanding of your needs and Microsoft's pricing, you can choose the right model and device enrollment numbers. After the trial period, they offer a budget of around $120 for you to allocate according to your requirements. The pricing is then converted into a pro-rated monthly basis, depending on the volume of devices you need to manage, whether it is beyond fifty or a hundred. This flexible approach is advantageous for users. Overall, I would rate it as a seven out of ten in terms of costliness.

View full review »We don't pay for Intune because it is bundled with the premium subscription to Office 365. It includes Intune and Defender. I don't have to buy two extra products to manage my enterprise.
I recently got to know that the AD P1 license is compulsory to use Intune Autopilot, which was surprising for me. Earlier, this was not the case. It is the wrong thing to do. We now need to purchase AD P1 licenses for us and for our customers. I would rate it a 7 out of 10 for pricing.

It takes time for people to recognize and appreciate the features offered. Convincing customers to adopt this solution can be challenging initially, but as they explore its capabilities over time, they acknowledge the value of the investment. If the pricing were more competitive, it would be easier for me to recommend it to customers as their preferred choice over other endpoint management solutions.

Generally, it's not too bad. Obviously, a cheaper price would be great. Typically, we are in touch with the partner to provide non-profit discounts wherever possible. Generally, we get favorable discounts, so it's not too bad. Obviously, we're looking at decreasing those wherever we can to bring value back to the public purse because it's all charity based. It's all publicly funded.

It's my understanding that we have the licensing set up for monthly payments, however, it's not an aspect of the solution I'm directly involved with. I don't know enough about it.
That said, I am aware that, in order to have mobile involved, you need the EMS solution or EMS license, and that's an extra cost to the standard Office license.

We don't have just the Intune license. We have the Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 license, but I don't have the exact figures. Someone else was involved in the initial discussions and purchase, and the entire environment was handed over to me.
Any bundle package, such as Security E3, covers multiple things, such as AAP, BitLocker, etc. If you go for them individually, they would be more expensive. Bundling makes the price more attractive and competitive.

Microsoft's licensing is more flexible and adaptive than its competitors. In Microsoft, you pay for whatever you use. In terms of services, it is more evenly distributed. You only need to pay for one license to get access to a suite of products. From your office to your endpoint, you are essentially managing your endpoint. Everything is combined into a single console. somewhat more flexible.

There are different kinds of licenses. We sell two licenses from Microsoft, the LSP or the CSP. The service that we have with Microsoft is based on the CSP kind, so the payment is monthly, considered as an expense, not an investment o asset. It depends on if you buy a set of licenses only for Intune - which can be sold separately, or can be included in M365.

The price could be better. Microsoft Intune pricing is based on the number of users. Every user license is for 15 devices. consists of 5 devices for PC (Windows or Mac), 5 tablets, and 5 mobile phones (Android and iOS).
My customers already know and use Microsoft, so they adopted Intune. They use Office 365 for secure collaboration between organizations. Microsoft is the preferred choice and has user confidence to work together securely.

It varies depending on the size of your organization, the market, and the reseller. You can buy a stand-alone license for Intune, or it may be included in a 365 license.

We're not paying for Intune due to the integration with Configuration Manager. If you own Configuration Manager, you own Intune and vice versa. If you own Intune, you own Configuration Manager or the on-premise solution. As far as how much Configuration Manager costs, I'm not exactly sure. It's not a server license. It's an end-user license. Because it's an end-user subscription and it's on a monthly basis, and because we're a government tenant and have a lot more scalability and users, we use it monthly.
We work with the subscription rather than a server license. I think it's economical this way because we don't have to have a server license for that, and I think that works in our favor.

It's monthly for us, but it's built into the license cost that we pay our IT each month. It's maybe 129 Kroner per head, which translates to £10.
There are some additional costs. Our IT had to set up and configure their own server, so there is an extra cost for that, but I'm not sure what that costs.

It's cheaper than AirWatch and other products, but I still feel like Microsoft can make a base version or with Exchange online or a la carte only Intune version which will be useful. A customer who doesn't want to go full-fledged E3 or E5 can take out or consume an Intune solution only for their purpose, and we want to target that customer.

We don't get Intune as a separate module. Most of the time, we use it within an enterprise agreement like E3 or E5. Those licenses are at a good price, but what is annoying is that every single year they go higher. That makes it more difficult to get a company to take a full license. It will be really hard to manage, for us, if the prices keep going up every single year.
Currently, we pay €44 for an enterprise E3 license. There are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees.

Microsoft offers some licensing where it's included at no extra cost when customers are already using the licenses. In such a case, it's a really good value. If you have to buy the licensing for it, it's probably on par with other solutions. It isn't substantially more or less expensive. The great thing is that it is included in some of Microsoft's licensed packages. So, some customers don't have to spend additional money for it.
Typically, most providers that support Intune do charge a management fee of some sort or some fee. Certainly, we're no exception.

If you consider a Microsoft bundle in the operating system, it's pretty interesting in terms of pricing. If you're considering it as a standalone, it's difficult to sell, due to the price.

The cost is fair but it would be helpful if they would segregate the licenses. There are a lot of features that many of our customers don't need but have to pay for because it comes as a bundle package and we're unable to exclude anything that is not necessary.

Licensing depends on how you are providing support to your enterprise, whether it's device-based or user-based. If you're providing device-based support, you need to buy a device pertaining license. If you're providing support for users, then you have to go with user licenses. If are integrating Intune with FSCM, which is an on-prem tool, then the same scenario comes in either devices or users.
If you are providing support only for devices, like device-based policies, with Intune, there's a type of policy that allows you to deploy to either the devices or users. If you're looking for a solution where only devices can receive it, rather than users, in that case, you need to purchase only one license for Intune — I'm talking about integrating Intune with FSCM. You only need to purchase one license. Since you have already purchased FSCM on-prem, Microsoft has that flexibility; you can extend those licenses with the devices as well when you're integrating the devices with Intune. I don't know about the pricing, but I know about the licenses.

Customers do have to pay a licensing fee. Our clients pay a monthly subscription cost.
I cannot speak to the exact price as the licensing is complex.
It's decent, however. I would rate it at a four out of five.
