I was responsible for deploying our current WSUS server, but we are still in the testing stage. We haven't yet deployed WSUS to be used in a production environment at all, since we are still adding in servers one by one, testing everything as we go along.
Deploying the system requires the assistance of an expert, especially if you are not familiar with its nuances. The application is comprehensive, covering various aspects, and demands expertise in specific configurations for accurate setup.

Only one person is enough to deploy. It does require maintenance , but not a lot. It's quite easy to update the system itself.
The main problem is the database, and the solution doesn't work well in larger environments. But even then, installing a new solution is quite easy, which is also a benefit.
View full review »Generally, we should do the deployment during the late night hours, and it takes around two to three hours max to deploy it for our set of seven computers.

There is not a lot of maintenance required for the solution. The only thing we do is apply patches and approve patches to deploy. It's fairly easy, we do have a whole team that takes care of it, but the majority is hands-off.
