What is most valuable?

MicroStrategy incorporates in itself a set of tools and utilities of incredible analysis that greatly facilitate the construction of elaborated reports. The evolution of… more»

How has it helped my organization?

With the MicroStrategy reports, we got the directors of each hospital and each department to have daily information on the status of each center, with the time evolution… more»

What needs improvement?

It is essential to have a good project partner in the beginning with MicroStrategy to be able to use their full potential. It is not a work tool that can be controlled in… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is important to make an analysis of consumer users of reports that will interact with MicroStrategy because it is what most will condition the investment. It is… more»

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

No, I didn't.

What other advice do I have?

For me, it's the best tool for BI.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

What is most valuable?

The whole Repository side of things is beneficial because you develop it once, and you can use it anywhere, in the Enterprise grade.

How has it helped my organization?

Users are getting their reports when they need them.

What needs improvement?

If you compare it with Power BI with the DAX language, it would be great to put that into MicroStrategy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing, in general, is high. With Power BI, you get mobile with the license, whereas with MicroStrategy, you have to purchase mobile for extra.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

The choice was political: IBM Cognos against MicroStrategy, and due to IBM internal mechanisms. My criteria for selecting a vendor are, first, that the application software works, and secondly, the… more»

What other advice do I have?

If you're looking for enterprise BI, go for MicroStrategy. I would give the tool an eight out of 10. The local office would get a two out of 10. But the tool itself is just a good enterprise-grade… more»

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are ad hoc reporting and the ability to create dashboards.

How has it helped my organization?

It has allowed us to standardize the reporting so that everybody is looking at the same view of the data.

What needs improvement?

The product could be improved by adding additional visualization. Also, another feature to consider in the future would be adding some additional offline capabilities without using desktops. In… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing is a bit high per user.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have used CognitiveScale in the past.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Yes, we considered Tableau, SAP Business Objects and Cognitive Scale.
