MikroTik Routers and Switches Previous Solutions
I've used various brands like Cisco, HPE, and Sinesky, but when it comes to routers and switches, I opted for MicroTik due to its favorable pricing. In terms of networking performance, particularly the connections between servers and PCs, it has proven to be reliable over the past several years.

I have implemented several network solutions involving routers, switches, and point-to-point (P2P) connections.
I have used different types of routers, such as TP-Link, DLink, and Cisco. We switched to MikroTik Routers and Switches due to the cost.

In comparison with Huawei or Cisco products, MikroTik offers excellent prices and performance, along with probably the easiest GUI. So, these are the two best USPs of MikroTik, and I will give two thumbs up to them. Now, let MikroTik come out with a more robust mechanism. Also, they need to put in some better power equipment. Apart from that, MikroTik's availability is always a questionable issue because many times, certain models are not available in our country, maybe because of that disturbance of the supply chain, in that pandemic situation, or maybe something other than that. I would also like to highlight that from the 1st of July, all the products deployed in any of the license services deployed have to be MTCTE-certified and trusted telecom-certified products. So I request MikroTik's Indian channel to approach the appropriate authority. In case MikroTik needs any help, we can get them connected to the right people, but get it certified so that MikroTik's business prospects don't get hampered in the future.

We use Unifi Switches to deploy and manage access points on-site.

I switched to MikroTik after I came to know that TMG Gateway had become obsolete and that Microsoft was planning to end the support offered to TMG Gateway. Hence, we decided to move to MikroTik.
View full review »We also use Cisco and Juniper. Cisco costs more comparatively. MicroTik is more flexible, and anyone can manage it.

We used Cisco previously. We switched to MikroTik because it was made compulsory by our telecommunication company. I, however, do not recommend it to be used by internet service providers.
View full review »We opt for Fortinet in complex scenarios due to its SD-WAN and additional features, but for simpler cases, MikroTik Routers and Switches are preferred due to their significantly lower cost.
I've also used Cisco in the past.
Most of the switches I have used are consumer-grade switches, not business-grade.

I've also used Ubiquiti.
We did try TP-Link and Cisco previously. Those were the two types of routers that were in the office in production. The main reason we switched was due to the price, cost, and feature availability of the other options.
This product comes in at a very low price compared to buying a Cisco router. I also had a bad experience with Cisco routers.

In comparison to other solutions, MikroTik is easy to install. It's a small unit as compared to that of Cisco. Also, the Cisco router is complex.
View full review »I've got a client that had a Palo Alto, however, the licensing fees were too expensive for them. Eventually, we just got them over on a MikroTik.
Before I started using MikroTik, I was using open source firewalls such as pfSense and OPNsense, which also obviously worked 100%. The problem is it works out to be expensive due to the fact that if you're running that, you basically have to buy a whole computer. Whereas with the MikroTik, you buy the router and you've got everything, and that's it. I've never really looked at anything else other than that. For example, RB2011, you buy it for R3,000 or R4,000, and that's it. There are no licensing fees, there's nothing. That's what I like. I don't like products where there's obviously recurring cost. Obviously there are required antiviruses and stuff like that. However, that's not that expensive. The bigger firewalls, however, such as Palo Alto or FortiGate have all these licensing fees. The services are very nice, however, for my clients, it's not needed.
Previously, we have used ITP-Link and Linksys Switches.

We use MikroTik Routers, but for switches, we use Cisco or Huawei. Clients prefer Cisco, Huawei, and McAfee, depending on their budget. MikroTik's equipment is very cheap.
