MOVEit Primary Use Case

We are using both MOVEit Transfer and MOVEit Automation, and we mainly have two use cases.

In the first use case, MOVEit Transfer is being used as an SFTP location or SFTP server, and it is also being used for doing ad hoc large file transfers. The second use case is for automation where we get files loaded to MOVEit Transfer, and from there, it goes to our internal systems and vice versa.

We use this solution for our motion planning for robots. The organizations that I work with are involved with robotic manipulators where the robot is required to follow a specific path of motion. We are customers of MOVEit.

It's been used for different purposes. I'm not sure if there's a desktop application. However, I'm using it on the cloud.

We are basically using VMware, the virtual machine, to get on the servers, and then we start with our work.

I've created different types of scripts in MOVEit. The files were specifically sent to a particular location, which we configure. We used the code, and we used to do the scripting part using MoveIt. The files are picked up and then delivered to a specific location whether any conversion is necessary or not.

We are just building the scripts and maybe assigning a schedule to the scripts, like when the script should run, what time of the day and how many times, et cetera. That's the kind of work I have done.

I am also doing the monitoring. I'm just monitoring the scripts using MOVEit, inside MOVEit, just to make sure we see if any file activities or any actual files are picked up or not.

Our primary use case for this solution is file automation. We receive many files and use MOVEit to automate how we receive them, where they go and how they appear at their destination. We maintain it on a server, creating Host connection points which can work with SFTP, Sharefiles, Azure, etc. It's currently deployed on-premise.

Our primary use case for this solution is data analysis for bank files. For example, when we receive a file from a bank in the production region, we don't touch the production because it is a live environment. We write a pull and push script in MOVEit and rename some files when we push the files from one server to another. Additionally, Windows Scheduler is integrated with MOVEit jobs. Once there is a signal in the Zena station, MOVEit is called, and the respective pull and push of script and the execution takes place there.

Our primary use case is for secure transfer. Within our organization, we have two different networks and there is no communication between these different networks. We use it if we need a file from one network to another network.

We also use it for the secure transfer of these files among the employees, which are not supposed to be shared over email.
