We have used a security solution from Cisco before. We switched to Skyhigh for its flexibility, allowing customers to create the rules, and for its premium services.

My company is replacing McAfee Web Gateway with Skyhigh Security because it's not getting what it requires from McAfee.

McAfee Web Gateway is a good product, but it isn't as good for ICAP purposes because it's lacking in ICAP protocol and proxy, compared to Skyhigh Security. The main use case for the two products is ICAP, so my company decided to go with Skyhigh Security.

I previously used TMG Web Proxy. It isn't as good as Skyhigh, which is considered a top-of-the-line product in this segment. TMG wasn't as robust or versatile as Skyhigh. TMG was a Microsoft product, but I believe it was discontinued in 2014.

We compared Skyhigh Security with SentinelOne which is also quite good, but the limitation is there because SentinelOne is just an EDR solution, while Skyhigh Security has many other things to offer. There is no apple to apple comparison possible.

Prior to McAfee, we were using Blue Coat. Two of the important things that Blue Coat was lacking are the SSL description capability and the in-line antivirus. I'm not sure if they have the capability now, but that is the reason that we switched to McAfee.

I have seen other products like Websense, which is Forcepoint now, and McAfee Web Gateway which is better than Websense, I think. The features are generally the same, but McAfee is easier to manage and maintain, easier to overview. It also has better debugging capabilities and better logging.
