We're pretty satisfied with the product. I'm also evaluating it for personal non-work-related use.
View full review »The product is easy to manage for any IT person who is new to backup. The product is also easy to implement whether you are doing on-premise or cloud. The support team is always helpful and responds quickly.
View full review »I rate Nakivo 10 out of 10. The two major advantages of going with Nakivo are support and price. We work with mid-sized companies, and these are their primary concerns.

We're part of the RESA MSP program. It's basically a partnership with the solution.
Overall, I would rate the solution at a nine or a ten. They've been a very good product so far. It's basically everything we need.
View full review »We are completely satisfied with how the solution handles backup and replication tasks in our environment. Our experience using the solution for cross-platform data protection was good.
Overall, I rate the solution ten out of ten.

I have serious reservations suggesting features for something which is spot on as it is. Over my many years working in IT I have seen good products ruined by overzealous "improvements". The software can quickly become bloated and go on to lose its long-term customers and then end up in a constant battle to be the most feature-rich product.

I like the product because it is doing exactly what I need it to do, and that is reliably backing up my VM. I have actually had to restore some VMs. Sometimes the power just goes off here and something will get corrupted and it works well for that. It has been reliable in restoring exactly what I needed to restore.
Based on my experience, the advice I would give to people considering it is to go for it. I think it is a great product. But there is a problem with customers — especially government customers — resisting adopting anything new. They get hung up on one thing and they like to stick with it. They buy a license and they just have it set in their minds that they do not want to try anything else, even though the solution they have might be costing them a fortune. Getting them to adopt a change can be difficult.
It is like when someone is committed to Cisco. I tell government customers not to buy Cisco under any circumstances. I tell them just to never get involved with it. Then they will complain and say that Cisco is all that they know. Arista beats the hell out of Cisco and it uses the same interface. Guys who know how to use Cisco already will not have to go to school at all to learn how to use Arista, and it ends up being half the price. My complaint about Cisco is not that it does not work. It depends on what you are doing. But in my opinion, Cisco solutions just do not have the necessary throughput for certain situations.
I have tried to get a lot of clients to buy this and show them the advantages. Some of them just say they already have a license for something else and they want to stick with it. People need to be open to the advantages of considering other products and how that can make a change in their efficiency and their bottom line.
On a scale from one to ten (where one is the worst and ten is the best), I would rate Nakivo as a nine-out-of-ten. I would never give anything a ten.

For the most part, I don't have anything I'd change for this small type of environment. It has been super simple and easy to install, configure, and use. The operation of the application works as advertised.

Support has been very good and product development and enhancement very active.
View full review »My advice for anybody who is implementing Nakivo is to make sure you evaluate the options available in each edition. I found that the Pro edition was all that we needed.
All in all, a very good company to deal with. I would highly recommend their backup products, as they work extremely well. The whole product is valuable in every sense of the word. I don't have any real complaints about the product.
View full review »When I made the choice of Nakivo, I didn't have many needs in this regard. I was looking for a product that was easy to configure and easy to use, with all of the classic features of a backup and recovery system for corporate virtual machines.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by all of the functions present within the suite, and in particular, by the fast boot from the backup repository.

Choose Nakivo. You won't regret it. As a primary, secondary, or other option in your disaster recovery portfolio, you will not regret the decision.
View full review »Overall, this is a good solution. I can only think of a few cons, there are a lot more pros.
The next release should only include little tweaks or bug fixes if there are any of them. In our daily use of this program, we have no experienced any issues. It performs all of the commands that we give it, and there have been no errors yet.

We are partners with Nakivo.
While our company is using the on-premise deployment version of the solution, our customers are kind of a mix. Some of them use the cloud version and have a backup for the cloud environment. Some of them use on-premises as well.
If customers are looking for a global data application without using any appliances, for example, if they want to try to duplicate all backup jobs together, then Nakivo Backup would be the best option as it has a global data application and Veeam Backup doesn't.
I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. I like the solution, however, there is always room for improvement.
View full review »Overall, my opinion is that this software is good and has improved very well since the previous versions.

If hardware or software specific integrations are important for your business, this is probably not the best fit. The software is likely the best fit for small to medium business which does not need all the advanced features of competitors' software.

On a scale of one to ten, I would give Nakivo a 9. Generally I'm satisfied.
View full review »The last version of Nakivo introduced the support to protect Microsoft Office 365 data with backup and recovery for OneDrive for Business and Exchange Online. It sends source-side deduplicated backups to HPE StoreOnce backup appliances with HPE StoreOnce Catalyst integration.
Unfortunately, we don't use that technology because we have Zimbra as our mail server and Collabora Office as our Office application. Also, we use NextCloud, a content collaboration platform.
Overall, Nakivo works fine and we don't have any problems for now.
