Automated architecture that proactively optimizes your database

What is our primary use case?

We use it for multiple databases. We use it for Oracle and for SQL. We also use it for file systems — Oracle, SQL, file system storage. Most of our use cases involve Oracle, SQL, VMware, and large file systems. I am a storage architect. have a state administrator that works with me as well. Internally, within our company, there are a few dozen employees using this solution. Externally, we literally have millions of people that hit that storage system every day. As far as our database administrators, they're always looking at the storage performance. Some of them actually have read-only log-ins… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "They have a feature called Live Migrate; it's been very, very useful."
  • "There's always room for improvement in the operating code."

What other advice do I have?

My advice would be to look at the succeeding product, the replacement product that replaces it. On a scale from one to ten, I would give Dell EMC SC Series a rating of nine. Just looking back at it over time, the initial setup was a little more difficult back in the 2008, 2009 timeframe. If that wasn't so difficult back then, I would give them a ten. As I said, that did get better. They got much better over time, but that's why I said nine out of ten.

Runs fast and without errors while being very stable

Pros and Cons

  • "The solution runs pretty fast."
  • "The solution requires a higher availability."

What other advice do I have?

We're currently using model CS5000 and we're on version 5.05.200. We are not yet on the cloud. We're on-premise. We installed it in our data center. In tests and features, they call it InfoSight. InfoSight collects logs and tries to send to the cloud. It's customizable, and it offers reports for you and any upgrade. It tries to give you information about your device. I'd recommend the solution. I'd rate it nine out of ten.

Good compression and performance, easy to expand, and the support is good

What is our primary use case?

We are a solution provider and all-flash storage is one of the products that we sell to our customers. Primera is one of the ones that we recommend for data centers.

Pros and Cons

  • "Our customers have given very positive feedback about InfoSign, which is the management software for this solution."
  • "This solution would be expensive for small business and it could be priced more competitively for that market."

What other advice do I have?

Overall, Primera is a good product and if it is suitable for the requirements then it is one that I recommend. I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

An easy-to-use storage solution for consolidating fast file and object storage

What is our primary use case?

The customer decides what he wants to do, and then we create a solution for them.

Pros and Cons

  • "It's very easy-to-use."
  • "The feature that we're waiting on is better integration with the cell services."

What other advice do I have?

On a scale from one to ten, I would give this solution a rating of eight. I would recommend this solution to other interested companies because it's extremely fast. That's the biggest reason why we recommend it to our customers.

High performance, proactive support, and we have had no problems with stability

What is our primary use case?

We use this product for our server storage. Our systems are primarily used for ERP.

Pros and Cons

  • "If there is a problem then the HPE facility will detect it and immediately contact me."
  • "The price is a little bit high."

What other advice do I have?

There is a storage replication feature that I think is nice, although we don't use it right now. For us, this product is a very good, full-flash storage. The suitability of this product depends on the organization. It comes down to a combination of the performance and the price. I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.
