Data protection is a valuable feature. It protects our data during any emergency or disaster.

The main valuable feature is the snapshot technology which enables us to keep a safe copy in the event that a user accidentally deletes something or there is data corruption. The second beneficial feature is the real-time replication to our DR site. This is used for our DR failover, where we need to bring up our application services and databases from a secondary site. It reduces our RPO and RTO.

The product has good performance. You can copy a data load in a very minimum amount of time. If one side is down, you can create another using the available snapshot. It is application-centric, requiring you to specify your application before proceeding with the necessary steps.

I find the most valuable features to be the management suites, integration into VMware with the Virtual Storage Console, and the capabilities it offers toward disaster recovery such as Snapshots, Snapmirror, and Snapvault.

With SnapMirror, the solution is the feature itself that is most valuable. It just replicates the data. It's very difficult to speak about, in the sense that it's similar to the features of a wheel. It is round and it's a part of an automobile.

The virtual NetApp storage simulator is the main feature of Data ONTAP for me. Before doing anything you can always check how it is going to work or the behavior of the system if there is a complication.

There are a lot of features that are excellent. The data compression during the transfer, for example, is good. The replication is great. The durability of the solution and the speed of the data moving from one site to another is impressive.

It provides block-based replication of data from the primary system to the disaster recovery systems. It’s fast and doesn’t take a lot of bandwidth, and it transfers everything including data and snapshots. Also, the clustered Data ONTAP is valuable.

Creation of any size of storage LUN and replication of the same with Snapmirror environment is most valuable.
