Has good security, speed and traffic handling features

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use is as a web server, but we have other uses and how it is deployed depends on our scenario. We have 40 websites that are related to our company now, and for some of them, we have a serious problem with threats, attacks, and preventing the attacks. Because of this we often use Apache. The throughput is important for us. The locks and the reports are really important for us. Because of this, we install a Web Server with the ability to handle the reports and analysis. Depending on the situation and the scenario, we use different solutions. For example, with our switches, our… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "It is more secure to use Apache and you will have fewer problems than other web services."
  • "The GUI for the less experienced users needs some improvement. For some companies, it is hard to configure it if they have not had any experience."

What other advice do I have?

Of course, I would recommend this service because we have had a good experience with it. On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate Apache Web Server as an eight.

Easy to manage from a single place, and the customer support is both good and responsive

What is our primary use case?

Kemp LoadMaster is used in our server for load balancing. Our organization produces software for public sectors like Transport, Healthcare, and Banking system. For continuous service and support, we need to run our system with high availability and avoid failures. Thus, the Kemp LoadMaster helps us to give continuous service to reach and is accessed by our clients.

Pros and Cons

  • "Managing and maintaining multiple servers is done in a single place."
  • "I really don't like the way the logs are presented in the software."

What other advice do I have?

I need to work on the Kemp cloud-based product, as I don't have experience with it.

Inadequate virtual machine support, but stable and secure

What is our primary use case?

Our engineers use various products from the F5 BIG-IP range when creating application solutions. Primarily, we make use of F5 BIG-IP's ASM (Application Security Manager) and WAF (Web Application Firewall). For most of our applications, we require that our servers, and server-related software, are hosted in virtual machine environments.

Pros and Cons

  • "In my team, we work in a very agile environment and the solutions from BIG-IP, including BIG-IP WAF, suit us well when developing and serving our applications."
  • "There are some aspects of F5 BIG-IP that could be improved, the main one being virtual machine support. We have seen that even with the virtual editions, there are some things that we would like to do that are currently not possible with virtual machines."

What other advice do I have?

I would rate F5 BIG-IP a five out of ten.
