The initial setup phase of OpenVPN Access Server was fine, and it was easy.
Only I am involved in the deployment and maintenance of the solution.

The solution is very easy to set up. It is not a complex process. It's also very easy to configure. There are some tutorials to help you along.
It took us about half a day to deploy the solution.
We did the deployment three years ago, and since it was so long ago, I cannot recall the exact steps.
We have about nine people that handle maintenance tasks as needed. There are managers, two developers, and network engineers that can handle the job.
View full review »Setting up OpenVPN is generally quick, both from the client and server sides. The connection setup is speedy. The more time-consuming part is implementing traffic policies, but overall, the initial setup is efficient.
The initial setup was straightforward. It took about 15 minutes to deploy this solution.

The initial setup is pretty straightforward. For example, I find it easier to implement than FortiClient.
The deployment is fast. It takes five to ten minutes. After that, you can put in the customer's configurations.
If the customer gives you the HTTP link for the certificate and the configuration, you enter everything on that site, and automatically, you are good to go.
We handle the maintenance for our clients.

Going through the setup for the first time will be a challenge. What I have done is write down a procedure to follow, that I have used every time since. I make modifications from time to time, as new features have been introduced, or old features have been replaced. Having a working set of config files available to use as a basis to build out new tunnels have been a blessing, too!

The solution's initial setup is of medium complexity. I deployed it to three ports to establish a tunnel between them. It took three weeks to deploy it to all the virtual machines.

The initial setup is straightforward, provided we have done our preparation. When we attempt to install the solution for the first time, we need to research how to configure it, check the parameters, assess whether other software is more suitable for the customer, and consider the cost.
The deployment took one week.
I first installed the server for the deployment, created the key for the client, and tested it on the external line to check if connecting was possible. Then, I went to different remote sites and deployed their information.
The initial setup is straightforward. I deployed the solution on my own in four hours. The only step is to run the executable files.

It takes a very short amount of time to deploy it. I found the process to be quite fast. We deployed in minutes, as I recall.
A company would only need one person to handle the deployment process.

It was a little bit complex but now that I've done it a couple times it's pretty straightforward. Looking at everything to begin with was a little bit complex, building the certificates, etc. Since then, we've scripted everything and that makes it much easier.

The initial setup is easy. Once we go to the marketplace for the license, we can install and start using it. This involves selecting an image, then selecting a VM, and deploying on that. You then install the certificate and create the users. Creating users is also easy to do.
One person is enough for this task and it will take between 15 and 30 minutes to deploy.

It was already set up when I got there.
However, I have set up OpenVPN elsewhere. The initial setup is very straightforward as long as you understand something about the way the OS works, and how the networking and certificates work.

With OpenVPN, the amount of people you need to deploy and maintain it depends on how many nodes you would need and the number of users as well as whether you are operating 24/7 or operating only during work hours. Likely, you would need between three and six people.

View full review »OpenVPN Access Server is complicated to deploy, but we have a script that helps us with it. If we are using a script, it takes us approximately 15 minutes to deploy and without a script, it will take much longer. The process could be easier.
View full review »If we had to create something for someone who was not necessarily tech savvy, I had to set that up on their computer, I had to write "read me's" and other things so that they could install their client and then connect to the VPN by themselves. So it was hard to set up for people who are not tech savvy. I had to actively provide assistance and walk them through the whole process.
