Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Initial Setup
I rate the product's initial setup phase a six on a scale of one to ten, where one is a difficult setup process, and ten is an easy setup process. There are some issues related to misinformation related to the product's installation and configuration. For a first-time user, there is a lot of confusion when it comes to installation and configuration.
For the product's deployment phase, my company calculates the number of applications or how many applications would be required to be onboarded on the tool, after which we select the profile. According to the selected profile, my company raises the request related to hardware configuration, and once the hardware configuration is available, we prepare the OS building. Once the OS is built, the company installs the application.
The solution is deployed on an on-premises model in our enterprise environment.
The solution can be deployed in ten to twelve hours.
The deployment process requires two people, one from Oracle's end and the other to manage DB.

The installation part of the product can either be described as easy or as a difficult process, but there are a lot of prerequisites or requirements to be met before starting with the installation process. It may seem like a difficult phase if one misses out on any of the prerequisites needed to take care of the installation process.

If you read the prerequisites from My Oracle Support, then installation is straightforward even without the manual. What you need to understand is what to install first, then second.

The tool's deployment is not difficult.
View full review »The major problem of OEM is agent installation. The agent doesn't restart, and upgrading the agent is boring. You need to upgrade the OEM and the entire stack, which takes some time to work. It's difficult to upgrade the OEM. Deployment takes one or two days for a simple use.
The initial setup of Oracle EMCC is relatively straightforward. You can easily access installation guides online, especially for EPPM.

Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control is too easy to deploy, especially for the default or the standard configuration. If you want the solution to monitor and handle any new database, you should add it as on target, which is an easy process.
View full review »The initial setup depends on your experience. For example, for people who are doing it for the first time, it's probably difficult. For those who have done it multiple times, it's not a problem at all.
View full review »I rate Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control seven to eight out of ten for the ease of its initial setup.
View full review »The initial setup is quite complex. It is not exactly simple. In terms of difficulty, I would rate it a four out of five.
The reason it is not easy to install is that you must install the database and the process of that. They also have no HA. The HA architecture is very hard to install for an Enterprise Platform product.
If you are familiar with Oracle products and can understand the documentation provided by Oracle, there shouldn't be any difficulties with initial setup.

This is a straightforward product, and there were not any challenges during deployment. Keep in mind that this product is deployed only after everything else has been set up in the environment. Once everything else is running, this solution will help you to monitor everything. It is not a complex setup.
This is generally a one-day deployment, depending on how complex the environment is and how many agents you are going to be monitoring. In my environment, there were only three or four agents, so it only took me one day to deploy a four-node cluster. In my case, the agents were only for monitoring, so I did not have to worry about the configuration. It was not as complex as I was expecting.
I had performed a couple of installations on my site, in advance. Normally, before deploying at a customer site, I work with solutions in my test environment. This made it very easy to deploy. Also, this particular customer was already using a previous version of Oracle, so I was comfortable with all of the technologies that were there.

The installation, I think is, straightforward. It's not very, very complex.
You need some background on the order, what you have to install first and what second, and you need to check which versions of support that will be your back-end or WebLogic. But if you have a bit of background and you go through the main Oracle Database to get the versions that you need, I think there's no issue with installation.
The initial setup is okay. For the deployment a step by step documentation needs to be followed.

The initial setup is complex but since the documentation is very much elaborated, we followed the documentation. We were able to implement it by ourselves. We didn't have to ask the third-party implementers to come and implement it for us.
The deployment took around two days for all the production servers. We have around three hundred servers, so it took around three months.

The initial setup is easy because you just have to deploy an agent. However, I did not install it myself.
The hardware is installed on-premises but it is a cloud device. This is what's called a Cloud@Customer. It's a private cloud infrastructure but can also join up with the public cloud.
It took us approximately one month to deploy.

The initial setup was straightforward. OEM's GUI is pretty comprehensive and user-friendly. The documentation is very clear in terms of prerequisites and steps to be executed.
