Both on-premise and OMC are scalable vertically and horizontally; you would just include the licensing costs of high-availability for both the middle-tier and database layers (or number oF VMs for clustering) and the added storage or incremental costs to include additional targets or resiliency. Yes, we encountered scalability issues. However, there are several techniques for achieving optimal performance. It can also help with capacity planning, sizing, and maximizing overall performance in a large scale environment.
