What is most valuable?

It is a full pluggable database, with nearly all administration and development privileges, without the need to administrate from a system point of view.

What needs improvement?

Currently, this service is running on an Exadata but without SmartScan enabled. It is in the roadmap that Oracle enables SmartScan to get the full power of Exadata.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is an unmetered service (not based on resource consumption - only rated monthly).

What other advice do I have?

I hope a service with more storage and more CPU will be made available, to help us to do some performance testing on new features and with representative data.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

An alternative is Schema as a Service, but this Exadata Express Cloud Service gives a full pluggable database: multiple schema, common objects, roles, etc.
