Initially, we were just using the traditional way of installing. We were not even aware that there was a solution in the market. When we did our research we came to know that there is something useful out there, and we went ahead with Parallels.

We previously used an older version of Citrix and decided that rather than upgrading to the later version, which would have been very expensive, we chose Parallels which offered a more economical solution. Basically, it was the most economical enterprise-ready solution available. There were other things out there that could have been used, but they couldn't do what Parallels does.

Citrix is suitable for big companies. It is difficult to set up and requires a certified technician with two Citrix certifications for easier deployment. They charge around $ 4,000 to $ 5,000 for training programs. In contrast, Parallels provides free training and can provision servers without integrating with third-party vendors.

We worked mostly with remote control. For support reasons, we remote control solutions. We also used RDP, but back then, it was quite rudimental. It is an improvement over Microsoft RDP. Actually, it uses RDP in the background, but it is sleeker to use.
We are also working with Virtuozzo and Jelastic, and we are actually looking at combining them at the moment.

We did not have a previous solution. The company I worked for before was taking over IT and we realized they were going to need this kind of solution. I don't know how the decision was made. I came into it after all the decisions had been made about the software. Because the companies were merging together, they were going to have more users. They needed a more centralized software system.

Citrix and native RDS. Citrix was more costly for a product that was no better and RDS has had a number of limitations over the years.

It's easier to set up and use than Citrix. We also switched because Parallels was more cost-effective and supported our requirements better.

We were previously using Citrix. We changed for a number of reasons:
- We acquired a cloud company which was already using Parallels.
- Cost.
I have used Citrix in previous organizations with good results but I lacked the budget to acquire Citrix for this implementation.
