Pega Robotic Process Automation Valuable Features

VISHNU VARDHAN CHENNURU - PeerSpot reviewer

As an RPA guy, every tool has its own advantage. That said, Pega has the best feature in terms of creating UIs. We can create the best UIs. Other tools, don't have a better UI for RDA.

Some go for RDA bots in the banking sector, and they prefer Pega Robotics.

We have centralized the monitoring. In Pega Robot Manager, we currently have multiple dashboards where we can track, schedule, and handle everything. That is the game changer in the last one-and-a-half years. It amended what the business expected.

The initial setup is pretty easy and quite fast.

It's stable.

You can scale the solution if you need to.

The feature I like best in Pega Robotic Process Automation is that I'm able to add external DLL section codes. I can inject the JavaScript, and I can write VB.NET, C#.NET, and DLL codes, then inject those codes into the existing process. Mainly, from a development perspective, I like that feature a lot, so if anything is not supported by Pega Robotic Process Automation, then I can build that either in JavaScript or in .NET, then use those functions within the IP.

The advantage of Pega is that coding your automation allows you to hook all of your events and connect in the automation space. It's very flexible.

There are no specific features I've found to be the most valuable.

Pega is very mature. It's very old. They have grown with time, and they have learned. Other robotic process automation solutions are basically focused on only doing the automation, whereas Pega also gives you a workflow system so that you can create a workflow.

A good thing about Pega is that the resource availability is pretty good. If you go out in the market looking for a Pega resource versus an ABBYY resource, it's most likely that you will get a Pega resource much earlier than an ABBYY resource.

The data entry and the automation of data entry are the most valuable aspects of the product. It was very smooth and very seamless to create automations. There was no scope for any errors and it was really error-free. That really helped us.

The initial setup was pretty easy.

This solution is a kind of visual studio base. You can do a lot of things with it including adding custom DOLs. The most valuable feature is the logs. The solution is user-friendly, easy to understand and has many features including the ability to track. Pega has a very quick loading time which makes for great performance and provides good data transcripts.

The most valuable part of the solution is integration with CRM tools. This product offers seamless integration with other tools, and it is much more useful in digital transformation. It depends upon easy licenses.

The 2021 version of Pega Robotic Process Animation is really light.

It's a scalable product.

Its stability has been good.

Pega Robotics offers all the required features to build end-to-end process automation like any other similar tools. It's unique development style using data line and control flow line makes it easy to debug through the flow. Separating fine-grained processes into Activities make it design reusable components and easily do plug and play. Another useful feature in the suite is Workforce Intelligence for CRM. This is using Robotic automation and AI to understand how sales and services agents work so that you can identify top performers and plan optimization.

The most valuable aspect for myself was access to the .net framework. If I couldn't figure something out using the objects that they had provided, I could bring in the .net objects and do so using similar logic that I would in a .net or C sharp coding language. Having that familiarity was helpful.

The most valuable features are the loops to lookup tables to read the data.

As it is a Java-based website, there have been several trial and error runs to get the exact match rules.

We develop a normal web adaptor, not an unusual web adaptor.

Another feature that we like is the configuration tables.

The case management and UI capabilities were the most valuable, though the integration capabilities were also quite useful. We also liked the DCO methodology as it reduced the build effort because some of the development (flow) was created during req and design phases.

The most valuable feature is the user Interface. You can create a user interface that can interact with a human being for attended robots and that will optimize, for example, customer service processes by simplifying the desktop and the screens they need to use from different systems.

I guess the most valuable thing that we get from using robotics is part of the process of using robots. Sometimes robotic solutions are limited. You can only do so much. But there is benefit in that. For example, sometimes people want robots, but what they really need are better workflows. I think what we get out of a Pega solution is that we look hard at improving workflows as a practice. Then on top of that, we get automation through the use of robots. It just makes everything more efficient even if it is not completely automated.

What I have seen in the industry more often than not is that people just want a robot to do something for them. They think they know what they need but they might not really look at what problems they are trying to solve. In other words, they do not want to know what is going on, they just want a robot to do whatever some task is for them. I can ask them what they are trying to do, but they are sold on their idea and not understanding what other things are out there that would do a better job of solving their issues. Sometimes clients want me to do things that robots do not do. Like one person wanted a robot to scan something like a million documents. I do not have a robot to do that.

I am getting challenged by people who just want a robot and they do not want ideas. I think they might want to consider that maybe robots are not leading the solution and solving the bigger issue, but they doing other things. Robots are not the ultimate solution for everything.
