PegaRULES Room for Improvement

The solution could be improved in terms of the local platform, which requires a lot of experience. If you really want to use all the features out of this platform, you definitely need a lot of experience and a lot of training. It's not simple. The complexity makes it very valuable for many different use cases, but you can't tell everyone that it's a local platform, because it suggests that it's for everybody, even for those who don't have a clue about IT. They use a lot of functionality for developers, and usually do a good job, but there are some situations where this automation causes stress and trouble, and makes more work at the end than if you just started from scratch. I would like to have a lightweight version of the solution, something like APN that is much more based around core features, because it's getting a little bit like the Office package from Microsoft. There you started with Word and Excel, and you were fine with that. Now you have a complete suite starting from SharePoint and Teams and whatever, but you don't need all the features because you just have a certain purpose where you need the best software. You don't need all the RPA stuff, which is promoted heavily or all the decisioning tools. These are things that you buy and it's reflected in the price, even though you may not need it. The solution needs to invest more in its technology. For public and private clouds, for example, the development environment is slow. Saving events should take one to two seconds, max, and because you are making changes often, the slowness cuts down on productivity because we have to wait for things to save before continuing. The UI could be slightly improved. View full review »

The UI needs improvement. The product itself does not have too many issues, but implementing Pega solutions is a bit of a challenge due to the way code is handled, and in general the quality of partners available with Pega specialisation could be improved. View full review »
