PegaRULES Stability

PegaRULES is a stable product, provided that the upgrade is happening regularly. Every four to six months, there's a patch version ready from Pegasystems. Right now, the latest PegaRULES version is 8.8, which means I'll be having an upgrade a few months from now as I'm currently working on version 8.7.

Any application that has regular upgrades will be stable for sure. Still, if you have a legacy application running version 7.1 and want to upgrade to version 8.8, that's a big jump, requires more effort, and would take time. Though the upgrade process is still quicker, there can be implications because of many code changes. You might have to adjust or tweak your application so that it gets accustomed to the latest features of PegaRULES 8.8.

If the clients upgrade regularly or every four to six months, for example, the tool is stable and has no issues. For clients on cloud deployments, PegaRULES is updated regularly because Pegasystems takes care of upgrades in the cloud.

It's stable because it has been in the market for more than 30 years. There have always been some hiccups, but it's evolving pretty well. There are a lot of features such as NLP, AI, decisioning, process management, and process automation. They have a lot of features coming in. I would rate it a seven out of ten in terms of stability.

The stability is decent. It's reliable. I'd rate it eight out of ten overall. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze.

From a stability point of view, Pega is increasingly used in markets like Southeast Asia, where the volumes are very high. From that perspective, it's able to handle large volumes. Also, as a modern SaaS technology, it is compliant with all the standards which are required. It is very compliant and very stable.

PegaRULES is extremely stable. It is still dependent on developers.

Initially, I believe we will require the services of architects to set up the cloud structure and design. Everything must be thoroughly reviewed. Developers will need to follow suit. In terms of stability, I would say it's a solid application. How you use it is determined by how you built it. You must exercise caution when developing the application. If teams attempt to build the Pega without the necessary experience, performance issues and other issues may arise. That design must be correct, and it must be reviewed and monitored. I believe it will be able to stabilize this application.

I give the stability a five out of ten. The solution is not the most stable solution available.

As enterprise customers are using it, you can tell it's stable. It's one solution which we've basically used and worked both on-prem as well as on cloud and it's one of the other unique value aspects of Pega, that the same solution can work on cloud as well as on-prem.

We cannot say that any application is fully stable, as it depends on the particular requirements. For example, if we have application automation then we need to make it scalable, but nothing is 100% perfect.

The stability really depends on the use case. We have two use cases where we use a lot of different tasks. If you have more than 1,000 tasks then there seem to be some problems with the stability. But it may depend on other features like the load balancing and those kinds of things. This isn't my core business but I've heard from others.
