Scalability-wise, PeopleSoft is quite good because you can increase the resources any time or whenever you need them.

Around 3000 people in my company are end users of the solution.

There are no plans to increase the use of the solution in my company.

The first line of support needs to have around two people, while the second and third lines of support need to have more than two QA people and fifty-three developers to deploy and maintain the solution efficiently. The managers will support other applications, so they are not 100 percent allocated to look after one tool.

Since PeopleSoft is a PaaS solution, it can be scaled up in terms of CPUs and memory while having the option of being hosted on Oracle Cloud. This allows for a straightforward process of scaling it horizontally and vertically simply by raising a request for scalability.

To consider the number of users using the solution within our company, it's worth noting that our company currently has approximately 60 employees, which marks a significant reduction compared to the past when we had over 800 employees.

We have been phasing out the use of PeopleSoft since we moved to Oracle ERP. Therefore, there are no plans to increase the number of users for PeopleSoft.

It is very easy to scale PeopleSoft. I work with a wide range of clients, including both enterprise customers and small to medium-sized businesses. I have used PeopleSoft on projects of various sizes, ranging from a couple of hundred employees for the smallest solution to over 100,000 for the largest client, involving complex payroll processes.

PeopleSoft is a legacy product and I feel that they have effectively taken care of customers who want to stay on PeopleSoft. From that perspective it is scalable, but certainly not modern. It was created in the early 90s.

I refer to our business partners as clients but they are internal. I am their IT, strategy, and planning. I work with our business strategy teams for the technology enablement of their business needs.

We have 85,000 users.

This solution can be expanded at any time. Initially, we started in one department and then another department got used to it. Later on, other departments began to use it. In our entire company, we have 27 branch offices and four factories. Initially, it was only implemented in the head office to get people used to it. Now, the entire company has been using it, including branches and our department center, all of the 10,000 employees have been using it. It's scalable. Everybody is used to it now.

It's used by 10,000 people. We have 10,000 employees here.

University-wide, though, we're looking at several thousand users utilizing the software.

It is not that difficult to scale it. If you work in a virtualized environment it is easy to scale. You just have to add a CPU and memory and reboot the thing, and you have the necessary performance. In a RAC environment, you add another member in your cluster, and then you have more performance.

We are so excited about how this can scale. We know that everything is kind of hinging on version 8.5.5, so we're excited about it. I've had so many of my colleagues come up and say, "Anne, when can we do this and when can we go on 8.5.5?" I don't know that we can go this year, but we want fluidity and elasticity. We want all of this stuff. We love how they've taken the fluid pages and you can choose. If you're a super user and you need to get your hands on a keyboard, you can go classic. It's nice for our people that are out across the country. All they really want is to be able to use their mobile devices. We're all excited about it. They see the scalability and we feel like we're just getting our feet wet with it.

It is scalable, absolutely. Scalability is one of the factors for implementing PeopleSoft; scalability, in terms of integrating with other software vendor’s applications, such as financials, supply chain, or manufacturing. At the same time, it offers integration with third-party applications. Because the technology is open-ended, you can easily build integrations, either with third-party applications or within PeopleSoft; PeopleSoft HRM with our EPM product, or with our other Oracle CRM products. It does offer the scalability factor there.

The scalability of the solution is fine. We're using a private cloud. If we do get different organizations that have a larger workforce, then it's just a matter of additional web and app servers. If there are any requirements, we just need to expand the specifications for the database site, which means, in terms of scalability, there are no issues. Right now, we have over 10,000 users on the solution. I'm unsure if we will increase usage in the near future.
