A solution that detects and blocks malicious content with good reporting and visibility, but the reliability needs improvement

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case of this solution is to detect and block malicious traffic, malicious files, and malicious links to protect the internal network from any external malicious website that may contain a virus or malware.

Pros and Cons

  • "The most valuable features in OPNsense are reporting and visibility."
  • "There are issues with stability and reliability."

What other advice do I have?

I don't have any information on the bandwidth and what it can handle, or how many workstations can work with it. This information is very important, but I can't find any resources for this information. The reporting is amazing. You can export reports, you can set the parameters, and export reports based on your needs. I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.

Quite stable with good security and holds its own against other products in terms of functionality

Pros and Cons

  • "The security is good. It's as effective as anything else on the market."
  • "The solution requires a more interactive dashboard. That would make it easier than playing with configurations the way we have to now."

What other advice do I have?

I haven't worked too closely with the solution, so I don't understand its full capacity. We have an entire Huawei architecture center. We do have equipment on the firewall side, run by Huawei, however, we haven't upgraded so far, we're just doing it to run parallel assistance with Cisco. We just need support from Huawei but we have not paid for the support yet, and we're lacking in that space. For that reason, we're trying to run another Cisco solution. Due to the fact we are a government organization, we need to only use an on-premise solution, although we are planning to integrate into the…

Protects us from daily attacks against our IT forum and email server

What is our primary use case?

This device is for Unified Threat Management (UTM). Our primary uses for this solution are as a firewall, antivirus, anti-spyware, web-blocker, and APT blocker.

Pros and Cons

  • "The most valuable feature for small and medium businesses is the support for various protocol proxies."
  • "It would be wonderful if the WatchGuard team develops nice products for threat intelligence."

What other advice do I have?

It is a very reliable and very easy solution. I think it is the best solution in the world, judging by its price and quality. I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.

Scalable solution with a straightforward setup

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution primarily for the VPN connections in local area. In some cases, I use it at universities in order to secure the local network in the university, such as servers and backup devices. I have also used the solution as a load balancer and the EMS functionality, which I use as a controller for wireless devices.

What needs improvement?

The PPPoE server protocol with a connection to a Radius server is used a lot by ISPs and not so much by the end user. I think it would be great to see this solution with the protocol developed for ISPs.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for more than two or three years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable.

Protects our company's IT infrastructure to easily block any programs from attacks but the interface could be more user-friendly

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for Stormshield Network Security is to protect the company IT infrastructure. We don't use an antivirus solution from them. We just use the firewall.

Pros and Cons

  • "I can see what traffic is going on. I can easily block any programs from attacks."
  • "Stormshield Network Security is quite expensive."

What other advice do I have?

On a scale from one to ten, I would rate this product a seven because from time to time there are some little issues. You don't know what is going on.
