I have not yet updated to the 10.12 version of the solution. I use the solution very, very often, four times a week. I would recommend Postman to other users.

Overall, I rate Postman a nine out of ten. Once I cover the mock servers and automation, I should be able to give a higher rating.

You can just give it a try. You can start with the free version and later upgrade to the paid ones. You would be able to do most of the things through the free version of Postman.

You can just learn the basic commands of Postman, various types of authentications, and the basics of API. You can learn how to send the environment variables, how to set the headers, etc. If you know all these things, it's very easy to use the Postman tool on a daily basis.

It's a very good product. I would rate it a nine out of ten.

I rate the solution seven out of ten.

As a standalone option, it's a fantastic tool, but it's very hard for us to collaborate using the solution.

Our development people use the solution for testing.

The solution is a good tool to try out new APIs that the team is building or any existing APIs. It is relatively easier to build out scripts and automate certain flows. The solution as a standalone tool is beneficial in creating utility scripts.

I rate Postman a seven out of 10. I think seven is a decent score because it's a solid tool that installs quickly and has tons of features. Postman supports multiple formats of REST and GraphQL. You can automate your test suite and run regressions. I don't think Postman lets you connect to a lot of databases, which could be a limitation, but I recommend it.

I would rate this solution eight out of 10.

Regarding our relationship with the vendor, as far as I'm aware, the company has no business relationship with Postman. We use the product because it's the world's most commonly used open-source tool for repair testing.

Regarding the number of staff required for the daily maintenance of the solution, we only make changes when the Postman tool or the contract changes. API contracts are modified daily. Most staff members continually modify or update these collections. Our developers use Postman at least once a day when developing.

My advice for others looking to implement Postman in their companies is that there is no reason to implement Postman. Plenty of other solutions are available, but most people are familiar with Postman because it appears in several YouTube tutorials.

Postman has taken the development community by storm. A lot of developers are using Postman for different things. Not everybody understands the end-to-end capability of Postman yet; one person might think it's only for testing, another that you can build applications, and somebody else might use it for documentation. Different developers look at it from different perspectives, and it has huge versatility.

I rate this solution nine out of 10.

It is doing what it is supposed to do. It is a pretty nice tool, and there should not be any problem in using it. It is definitely better than other alternatives.

Based on my experience so far, it is a flawless product. I don't see any bugs or any kind of technical issues in using it. It is pretty easy to use and easy to learn. If you want to start with API testing, you can go ahead and start with Postman. It is the easiest option available in the market.

I would rate it a nine out of 10.

The product is not used for collaboration but for testing purposes in my company. In short, I use the product, and it is not used for exchanging or exporting data. I use the product at a very personal level, considering its API-related capabilities.

The tool performs well enough to meet my expectations.

I rate the tool an eight to nine out of ten.

Postman is one of the most widely used tools in the market. When you use it, it is practical and useful. You need to check whether it suits your team, project type, and work to take profit from the way Postman works. From the beginning, it is one of the three main tools you must explore if you regularly deal with APIs.

However, I am still exploring all the tools, and I don't know if I can maintain it or not. When I know all the different technologies better, I will be able to say.
Overall, I would rate the solution an eight or nine out of ten.

We are a Postman partner.

I've been using an older version of the solution. I'm not on the latest deployment.

I'd advise others that it is important to have project middleware functionality, including for the access level. When I work with clients, I will ask for the certifications of the tool. Once the tool is initiated, 99.9% of the time,  there is no management involvement here. It's signed off on.

I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.

I'm an end-user.

I'm not sure which version of the solution I'm using.

New users need to watch a few videos and understand the solution pretty well. If you are using Postman for the first time, never use the administrative credentials. It is very easy for you if you're using the administrative credentials to pass through the Postman's scripts. It is possible that you might override the configuration unknowingly. If that happens, that can actually bring down a good amount of your configuration or an earlier configuration. It's best to actually get the solution into a development environment before you actually do anything on production.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. It's a good, very user-friendly scripting tool. Anybody can learn it and start using it. However, new users do need a little bit of knowledge and must be willing to learn as they go.

Senior Automation Engineer at a tech vendor with 10,001+ employees

I rate this solution a seven out of ten. You can use Postman if you are a beginner or trying to learn API. Small-scale organizations can also use it because it does not need any license.

Postman is gaining pace because it supports the Google Chrome compatibility rate and plugin support. It is easy to set it up for the testing team. It is a good tool, but it still needs improvement for a scalable API tool.

Regarding advice, there are some secure APIs in different organizations, so it's better to get approval from your manager or architect so that APIs are not exposed. Also, it is important to be cautious about the organization's sensitive data before implementing Postman.

If you're getting started with API testing, Postman is the first tool I would suggest for anybody who wants to learn API. It's easy. Later on, you can try SoapUI and finally move on to ADAPT Test. It's easy to teach and train others to use Postman. I can share my screen and tell them. It's not like I have to sit with them, then show them. There's nothing like that. It's very easy. Even a recommendation will do. When I'm teaching a person, I don't have to sit with them and tell them, "Click there. Click that." I can create a document and share it with them and they can do it on their own.

I would rate Postman eight out of 10. I need to check on the email functionality though. If email is provided, I might rate it 10. I'm not sure.

Regarding advice, don't mix up all the endpoints and organize your collections according to the use case. It will be very helpful for other developers to understand the use of the APIs.

  • Easy to understand.
  • Provides knowledge transfer.
  • Less coding involved.
  • Does not take up a lot of memory.

I would rate it an eight out of ten.

The pricing is the only improvement. Its competitors are quite pricey. But it would be nice if there were more options like annual, monthly or enterprise-level.
