I previously used PingSafe, which is more cost-efficient than Prisma Cloud. When I started working with PingSafe, I thought it could be a good product. However, when I changed to Prisma Cloud, I thought it might be more efficient when compared to other products.

Redlock was the original company doing CSPM, so I got into Prisma Cloud because they acquired Redlock. I previously used Qualys and Tenable for vulnerability management. I thought putting the CSPM and cloud workload protection pieces of Prisma Cloud under one roof would simplify my life.
Also, all these are cloud-managed and take care of the end-to-end requirements for cloud workloads. Qualys and Tenable have all these vulnerability management capabilities, but they might lack some native remediation capabilities. It's not that the other products are falling short, but I need that consolidated single pane of glass for cloud security.

We did not use any similar solution before. We adopted the same VPN technology based on the on-premise firewall that we already had, but there was a very big consumption of bandwidth. It was sometimes a little bit difficult to manage a high number of remote users, and this problem was completely solved by Prisma Cloud.

As an organization, we possess certain tools, some of which have been developed in-house. However, it is important to note that no tool can be entirely relied upon, as perfection is unattainable. Some abnormalities have arisen and subsequently been addressed. Our main focus in the previous year was on utilizing cloud-native tools. We are now using Prisma Cloud and also looking at Citrix.
View full review »We previously relied on RapidFile and another tool for vulnerability detection, including analyzing subscription behavior. However, since adopting Prisma Cloud, with its advanced intelligence and machine learning capabilities, we've experienced a significant improvement. It not only efficiently detects vulnerabilities but also provides deep insights into our environment. This proactive understanding of our environment, including its nature, vulnerabilities, and potential threats, has proven to be a valuable aspect of using Prisma Cloud.
We previously used Qualys, a tool known for its diverse features. While Qualys encompassed various functionalities, including container security, I noticed a discrepancy in the vulnerabilities detected by Prisma compared to Qualys. Although Prisma exhibited robust features, there were instances where certain vulnerabilities highlighted by Qualys were not identified by Prisma.
View full review »The company never had a public cloud solution before Prisma, but they had something for on-prem. I don't know what it was. They also used cloud-native solutions like Defender for Cloud and the native tool for AWS.
We switched to Prisma because we wanted a single pane of glass that would allow the security team to see security issues across all of the public cloud vendors that we used, so they wouldn't have to jump to each individual cloud vendor's tool.
We previously used AWS GuardDuty for vulnerability management and compliance visibility, but it was not user-friendly due to the requirement to log into separate accounts to access reports.
View full review »I have previously worked on different tools like PingSafe. PingSafe is only into cloud security posture management, but Prisma Cloud has everything enabled in it. As a cloud security posture management tool, both the tools have their own advantages and disadvantages.
I can compare only one functionality, which is the CSPM module. For the CSPM module, Prisma Cloud's finding is good because it has access inside a containerized agent. PingSafe was more into the basic CIS benchmark things where we were able to identify the issues. PingSafe was also good, but Prisma Cloud has more advantages and configurations enabled.

We had previously used PingSafe. I feel like switching to Prisma was the right decision. PingSafe lacked multiple features that Prisma has. After we did our PoC with Prisma, we found that these features added value to our cloud infrastructure security. Once we switched, we noticed an improvement at the management level. We also reduced the number of data tickets that we needed to manually create.

Prisma Cloud provides the visibility and control that we need, regardless of how complex or distributed our cloud environments become. Our security and compliance postures are significantly improved through the implementation of this tooling, mostly because we had poorly supported open source tooling acting in this capacity previously. We were using the Scout2, because it was free, which was not nearly as fully featured or capable.
View full review »We previously used Fortinet, CheckPoint, and Cisco. Palo Alto Prisma Cloud is more efficient in single scans.
View full review »We used AWS native security, which is Security Hub. They have their own benchmarks which we leveraged. But we wanted to see more variables with the policies to have a stricter and more secure cloud environment so we moved to Prisma Cloud.
We have been customers of Palo Alto Networks for a very long time because they have several security products, including firewalls that we use in our organization.

Before Palo Alto, we used the cloud providers' native tools. We switched because, while the native tools were great, managing three different cloud provider portals was not ideal. We needed some centralization and customization.

I have experience with Trend Micro Cloud One as well. The pricing is what differentiates Trend Micro Cloud One from Prisma Cloud.
View full review »I did work with a different product previously. Often, other solutions do not have as much visibility. AWS native services, for example, are not able to monitor the workload or data of Azure. You'd need another product for that. Similarly, Defender will only monitor an Azure environment. I have not worked with something that moved across clouds like this solution does.

We previously used Cisco ASA. We decided to switch because we wanted to adopt a UTM approach in which all the logs and reports go to a single dashboard. Everything is visible in Panorama, which comes with the Palo Alto appliances. We need to purchase a separate license for Panorama, but it's there.

Prisma Cloud was the only solution we had for container security. We had other tools such as SAST and DAST tools, as well as open source management tools. Those intersected somewhat with what Prisma does, but Prisma had access to the whole environment, so it's a little bit different.

We switched because of twist lock for compute security. The Prisma Cloud dashboard is powerful, and it gives you at-a-glance compliance security against many standards. We can also write our own custom policies if we want to build our own standard. So, there are lots of benefits with Prisma Cloud.
