Qlik Sense Pricing

Economies of scale come into play very quickly, especially with no enterprise/infrastructure-specific licensing for Qlik Sense.
With on-premise solutions, there can be a requirement for some heavy hardware, however, moving into the cloud means this can be reduced.
View full review »It is a little expensive for the Italian market. In particular, it's not easy. Right now, other products have more aggressive pricing, making it tough to sell Qlik Sense.
We sell differently, but it's not easy. A cheaper price would be better for us. Normally, Qlik Sense has two types and costs. The medium cost is around 700 euros per year.
One license costs 840 euros per year, and the other is 400 euros per year. Medium is around 700 or 600 euros.

I'm not able to reveal the licensing cost for Qlik Sense, but because it was a huge deal, the cost was less than the usual cost. The license wasn't that costly. It was the infrastructure that was very costly.

Qlik Sense is not the cheapest tool, however, the time to ROI is very fast. You can have results in no time.

I'd advise users to go to the cloud. If you can, go directly to the SaaS version. From a cost perspective, it was cheaper than other solutions - and better. Now it might seem more expensive, however, with all the features available, and being able to create a full data pipeline, it makes more sense using Qlik Sense.
View full review »I'd advise users to negotiate directly with the sales team for the best deal.
View full review »Qlik Sense is a middle of the road solution in terms of price; just average in regards to pricing. It has a great following because of QlikView and an organization can save money if it goes through Qlik Sense as opposed to doing the full deployment of QlikView. Qlik Sense is a robust solution tool, but it's hard keeping up with the big guys now.
At my company, the licensing had to do more so with having other users, like non-technical users and business users, and enabling them to view the reports and the analysis. So I don't know if they've changed the licensing to a read-only or reader, but at the time when I was there, it was all or nothing. So you basically were a power user or you were just not going to get it.
My organization might have had a deal for 200 seats. I don't know how much a seat cost us though.

We'd like it if they could provide a discount.

For on-premise enterprise users, a number of additional features come at a premium cost.
View full review »The entire setup process is very simple. The licensing fee seems high at first. That said, the productivity and speed of delivery make up for it. There have been no billing surprises, as there is no need for other acquisitions, such as databases.
View full review »Pay close attention to your licensing needs, especially when determining your requirements for developers vs users. Qlik offers excellent options, but you have to know your own requirements for them to help you.

If you have users that don't need/want to do self-service analytics (which is the main advantage of Qlik Sense), consider buying less licenses for Qlik Sense and instead by a license for Nprinting tool (also a product of Qlik) which can be used to build and automatically send periodical reports extracted directly from the solution you already developed in QlikView.

I'd advise that users always try to have more RAM than they think they will need to make it easier to expand in the future. This also applies for CPU cores.

Qlik Sense pricing and licensing is like that of QlikView. It's on the high side for a small company, but it’s competitive among its peers. Use of licenses (referred to as tokens) is a bit confusing. There is a login access pass for infrequent or anonymous access.

Qlik Sense is pricier than other BI tools, with various licensing models, including potentially expensive token-based licenses. Organizations should carefully assess their budget and licensing requirements before choosing Qlik Sense.

QlikSense offers a hybrid environment architecture, which is very cost effective based on where the enterprise data resides. The flexible licensing model is based on usage and architecture.
View full review »Triple check with the Qlik Sales Department about your current needs, often smaller than the definitive ones, allowing you to scale the price. Chase them to provide the best solution to your needs, not just a discount, but the one that meets your company requirements (and eventually more).

You will spend more time on educating your staff than licensing the product. Ultimately, the cost is low, and it implements fast. The limiting factor is how quickly your staff can keep up.

We have 20 licenses for Qlik Sense, and it is a special license that allows people in the whole company to use it over time. You buy this license and there are some minutes that can be used. For example, for the users that used only a few minutes in a month, we use this license. All the people have the ability to work with Qlik Sense. However, the number of licenses is not the number of users. The number of users that uses Qlik Sense is approximately 35 people.
We have paid extra to have support from Qlik Sense.
View full review »My advice is to always evaluate the respective use cases to determine whether it is the best tool to go with.

Before looking at the pricing/licensing, research all of the employees’ needs. Make a matrix with their needs and the available BI platforms on the market, checking which platform addresses the way your business way-to-do. Then, determine which users will use the platform to see information, to create information and to build information.

Prices from Qlik are in general high; however, there are more and more other vendors who offers the same support. Nonetheless, I recommend to check experience level beforehand, as not all Qlik-certified partners have the same level of quality, in my opinion.
