Qlik Sense Primary Use Case

Jarno Loubser
Managing Director at B2IT
I would say general business analytics is the primary use of this solution. Anything from Finance files, HR, Operations, Manufacturing, Mining, etc. It's not specific to any use case, but I would say it is used for general all-purpose business analytics. View full review »

We are in apparel manufacturing. Individual Qlik Sense Apps were designed for each department: Retail, Warehouse, Sales, Finance, Production, and Operations. We are able to utilize data from our ERP, PLM, and retail applications. We use QlikView as well but Qlik Sense has been leveraged to allow departments to digest the data in a more targeted approach. It has a cleaner look and our users have been pleased with the solution. We added N Printing recently and have the trifecta of the BI solutions from Qlik. View full review »

As a consultant, I used this for a wide variety of use cases. Mainly, the first thing people would look at would be sales and margin reporting, especially in retail (which is the area I work in now). I have also used Qlik Sense as an integration tool to gather data from multiple data sources to be exported and sent to AWS to be picked up by a web marketing tool. View full review »

We use this solution for process optimization and getting insight into making better decisions based on data visualization. We have deployed to multiple environments, standard and self-service, among a variety of user groups based on the requirements. This is valid for multiple locations around the world including North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Use cases are valid for most of the company's divisions, though some of them are using it more often. We have both user types, including consumers who don't have as many privileges and power users who can take advantage of most of the features. View full review »

During the COVID-19 crisis, we used our live dataset to be visualized adequately by Qlik Sense and present them to the leadership in order to let them make the best decisions. As it turned out, they had to concentrate more and more on the never-seen-before cancellation rate in the hotel industry, and besides turning the deposit - where it was possible based on the contract - into cash-flow. Even though there were obviously many other factors on the spectrum, which couldn't have been influenced by our decisionmaking, Qlik helped a lot during this uncertain period. View full review »

Over the last two years, we have worked to modernize our company's data platform using technologies such as Qlik Sense to help deliver insight to our business partners. Prior to Qlik, our users had to depend on data extracted from our mainframe and loaded into various excel spreadsheets and access databases. Today, we have the ability to not only replace those antiquated methods, we can help our users look at data from many different angles. We are currently using an on-prem solution but will be moving to AWS next year. View full review »

Our primary use case of Qlik Sense is as a dashboard. It replaces some Excel grids we used to provide to people. We are currently serving only a few business units but are working on expanding to all other BU over time. We normally use this tool by loading data from our data warehouse into a QDF (Qlik deployment framework). This allows for better reusability at the cost of duplicate apps. We have also recently begun using Qlik Sense to load data from other sources, such as excel to help other business units that previously had no BI at all. View full review »

Our organization uses Qlik Sense above all for financial reporting to management, as well as for reporting sales, collections, stock to the commercial department, and payment-purchase reporting for the administration department. We use ERP SAP Bussiness One for the management of the company, which is why we needed a solution for information extraction due to the limited nature of this application in the reporting area. The version we currently use is Qlik Sense desktop, April 2020 version, and its implementation began at the end of 2018. View full review »

Dashboards and reporting: we host a dashboard and reporting system for the whole company with a full set of rules of governances. Mashup pages or embedded iframe are good choices to manipulate Qlik Sense dashboards to any formats. Ad hoc data analytics: with strong data load engine and in-memory processing, we could use Qlik Sense to do most of the statistical tasks or data minings task, or even export processed data to do further advanced analytics by another platform. Self-service BI: in-memory processing make self-service data analytics become a joyful activity. View full review »

We are in the Pharma industry and we get a lot of patient-related data for our products. This data contains post-marketing cases and clinical cases that my organization conducts, and we use Qlik to analyze the data. We also use Qlik in some of the reporting we do with health authorities with different affiliates. We track the information sent to affiliates, whether the reporting was done on time or not. We use the GxP setup, so it is very controlled and split by three different environments: Dev, Val, and Production. View full review »

We have been using Qlik Sense for centralized reporting and analytics where we have one source of truth that can not be manipulated by users like spreadsheets. We want users to utilize the reports to analyze the data instead of spending hours producing reports that are never analyzed. We have been using Qlik Sense to generate reports that have taken hours to prepare before that we are now able to update in a couple of minutes and are available to users on a centralized platform where they are able to get the required reports. Qlik Sense is the BI platform for my company. At Carasso Motors, we use Qlik Sense and QlikView as back and front end tools for building data warehouses that are used across the company. We also build a variety of data GUI models that are also vastly used. The main operation of the company is selling new and used cars, which is our focal point on building decision support models that are used by managers of all ranks. In order to support all fields of operations within the company, we needed a platform able to connect to different kinds of data sources. Qlik Sense makes it easy for us. View full review »
