Prior to Qlik Sense, we were using QlikView, and shifting to Qlik Sense provided a much more modern architecture. Prior to QlikView, COGNOS was heavily leveraged.
The switch moved us from a very manual, spreadsheet/PowerPoint-based reporting to a much more fluid, dynamic, and interactive solution.

The main reason we went with Qlik Sense is that we have multiple systems, so we take data from multiple systems then we present the data in a single dashboard on Qlik Sense, so it's a very good tool for that particular purpose.

My entire career I've only dealt with Qlik only.
View full review »I had already used traditional BI, however, the change or evolution process was very time-consuming. We achieved more agility with the use of Qlik Sense.

SAP Business Objects. They were very expensive and lacked the dashboard capability side of it. It was also very complex and needed more internal resources. Every request would take longer for it to be developed as well.

We used QlikView, however, it was too old and unsupported.
View full review »Previously, we used QlikView, but we upgraded to Qlik Sense based on an OEM suggestion that QlikView was about to shut down, so we should migrate in order to keep our support from the OEM and technical partners.

Yes, we used a different visualization tool before Qlik. At the time we made the switch, we did a comprehensive evaluation based on a list of our success criteria and Qlik scored more points compared to other tools. Some areas where Qlik scored more are data load, security and performance.

We did use something else, however, the product was not relevant anymore.
View full review »Prior to Qlik, our data modelling and reporting process consisted of SQL -> MS Access -> MS Excel -> MS PowerPoint; when requests or report criteria would change, that vicious cycle would be repeated and sometimes it was painfully labor-intensive. Qlik optimized the data engineering aspect and packaged that entire process into one place.
View full review »We used QlikView before (and still have some reports on this). We changed when Qlik ran a good promotion to get people to switch. I had used the product before and knew the benefits that come with Qlik Sense (i.e. the easier self-service for business users), so I was happy to get the chance to switch.

We currently use SSRS and QlikView in addition to Qlik Sense. We like to enhance our offering. SSRS reports can take much longer to develop than Qlik reports.

Prior to this solution, we used Longview (Arcplan). Very hard to maintain, question-answer concept on the SQL Server basis. We needed an easy to deploy data visualization solution that was mobile-ready and had a strong analytical engine. Qlik Sense was the right one for us.

I was using Microsoft Excel and now I use Qlik Sense. We first started with the desktop version of Qlik Sense and then we migrated to the enterprise. We are now fully integrated with SAP and Salesforce. It has been a long time since we have been working with Qlik Sense as a first tool.

We used (and continue to use) SAP Business Objects 4.1 Edge (and all the embedded tools...). We acquired the SAP BO licenses to initialize our business intelligence project. But, our bigger problem is using lot-and-not-linked tools to generate insights. Some of our needs are only answered by Explorer, another only by Dashboard Design (Xcelsius – and it’s so old...), another only by Lumira (and can’t be viewed on LaunchPad – The Web-Portal of BO - forcing users to install the app on their machines without mobile support).
