Qualys VMDR Other Solutions Considered
We evaluated Tenable.SC and Rapid7.
View full review »We did evaluate other solutions. We looked at most other vulnerability management solutions.
View full review »I did work on Tenable's POC and some other vendors. It has some limitations in detecting different types of vulnerabilities or false positives. Qualys is on the higher side when compared to the other tools.

We evaluated vulnerability management in Microsoft Defender, but we found the reporting and functionality lacking compared to Qualys. And then the Microsoft licensing costs were also a bit of a dealbreaker.

While we didn't evaluate other options previously, currently, we are looking at all sorts of vulnerability management solutions and that's including Kenna and RiskSense.
Although Qualys has come up with the model, I've not really looked that far into their other offerings. There is the possibility of upgrading the model on the part of vulnerability management. We'll see if we change solutions or decide to upgrade instead.
We've also looked at Tenable, which is easier to understand and configure.

Because I've been using Qualys for quite some time, I was looking for a comparison of several solutions such as Tenable SC, Rapid7, InsightVM, and Tenable Nessus. I was curious to know if there were any other tools that were better than Qualys.
I was looking for more information about Tenable SC and wanted to compare it to Qualys in more detail, with parameters such as, how the false positives are detected in Tenable SC and how good it is in comparison to Qualys. In a similar manner, in comparison to Qualys, we learn about its usability, interface, and how user-friendly it is. Those are the few things I was looking for, and I'm still looking for more information about Tenable right now.
View full review »I constantly speak to other companies to find out what they're doing and what the differences are between the different products. My job is to find the best solution for my customers so it's important to know what's on the market.
My customers evaluated Foundstone and Rapid7, and possibly others.

Right now, we don't have anything in our OT environment, and this is what I am particularly interested in. I am currently having discussions about new solutions with Qualys, Tenable, and Forescout.

We often demonstrate these types of tools to the enterprise architecture team, who will ultimately decide which solutions they are going to implement based on their environment and requirements.
We are completely agnostic with respect to which tools our customers decide to implement. As an engineering team, we implement what the customer wants. In the case of Qualys and other solutions, we download the information and pass it along to our customers. We also facilitate or set up communication between vendors and customers to best help our clients.
We do try to learn about who the providers are and what differentiates their solutions from others. Sometimes our customers do not know very much about the products, so we try to provide as much insight as possible to facilitate their decision making.
View full review »No, because it was already in use at our parent company and it was providing good results for a low price as well.

No, we had a 3rd party running the scans for us. We were very happy with Qualys but wanted to bring it “in-house”. We brought it in-house 5 years ago and never looked back.

We were previously using McAfee. We had to switch because McAfee stopped producing the solution we needed. We considered Tenable Nessus, but we chose Qualys in the end.

I have seen other products like Nessus, Nmap, iDefense and so on but I found this one much better.
View full review »I have evaluated multiple products that include commercial as well as open source. There are different solutions available with other products, but I feel this is the integrated product which covers information security and compliance comprehensively.
Also, the results provided by the product are accurate and precise.
