We used Tenable.IO which we found very limited. However, in our other cloud environment, we had to use Teanble.SC with which we were able to use a Lambda function and a few API calls to make it operate very well in the cloud. 

We previously used Nessus Professional. We switched when we could no longer go use our paid scanner on a client environment due to COVID and not actually going to client offices and nobody being there. Therefore, at that time, it wouldn't have been an effective vulnerability scan, and we had to look at other options. While one of our larger clients does have Nessus iOS through the city government, and it's a great tool, the pricing model was just cost prohibitive for our users across so many clients, and so that's why we were looking at other tools.

We previously used an AWS scanner but switched to Qualys VM because of the Japanese support and the cost. 

If we compare Qualys VM to other vulnerability management solutions like Tenable, Qualys is only for agents. Their on-prem capabilities are pretty limited so it is very easy to manage assets that are cloud connected, but if they are not cloud connected, it is challenging. Tenable is better at managing non-cloud connected agents.

I used Symantec before but switched to Qualys VM as there's no limitation to adding endpoints. The other reason everyone moved to Qualys VM was its robustness and flexibility. I think that's something that's there, and there was no hassle in deploying the agent. All I had to do was get these machines that were enrolled in our MDM solutions.

As a consultant, I've worked on a variety of projects in a variety of organizations.

Previously, I have used Rapid 7 Nexpose. They are similar solutions although what Qualys is providing, it provides well but requires less. Qualys reporting is better.

Nexpose has upgraded too, and now their reporting is also very good.

I also have previous experience with Tennable Nessus, and I find Qualys is better than Nessus, which is slow in the security center and lags a bit.

We were previously using Lansweeper, which was not scalable.

We are currently doing a proof of concept with both Qualys VM and Rapid 7 InsightVM.

I have previously used Nessus. Overall, Nessus is a better tool because it provides greater insight into all vulnerabilities, some of which are skipped by Qualys. 

I did not personally, but the technical contacts that worked for my customers tried another solutions, and they chose Qualys for the easy way it manages the processes.

Rapid 7 Nexpose. To use the software, it takes a whole laptop just to run it, and the results have too much redundancy. Additionally, the scan rate is very slow compared to Qualys, and furthermore it is too expensive when compared to Qualys.

I have used both Nessus and Rapid 7 Nexpose. I am working as a security consultant and I need to know the big players so I could present to my clients the pluses and minuses of the products they might choose.

I have also used Rapid7, which is very similar to Qualys VM.

Scaling is more difficult with Rapid7. When it comes to scaling, Rapid7 is not my first choice.

I used to work with QualysGuard VM — an older version. The earlier version didn't have the detection response that we needed, that's why this time it has the detection response. VMDR is the evolution of the solution.

We used Nessus before. It was a manual process and very time consuming. I like Nessus, but it was very tedious to get it to function automatically.

We previously used Rapid 7. The product was not staying current with shifting trends, sales staff were pushy and management were arrogant.

We are also working with Tenable SC. Qualys is both more complete and for us, better in terms of pricing.

We used McAfee Vulnerability Manager/Foundstone and had to switch because this is a SaaS based solution and has more features/capabilities.
