How has it helped my organization?

The balancing features on Turbonomic help keep our environment running fast and more efficiently over even DRS and sDRS. In fact one the best performance features is the rightsizing tool, to either increase or decrease sizes of specific VM's.... more»

What needs improvement?

I would like to see more integration with 3rd parties. For example, I would like to be able to provision more storage from Turbonomic, not just have it tell me I need more.

What do you think of Scalr?

Valuable Features: It used to be the ability to autoscale based on load. • Improvements to My Organization: I was able to to deal with requests without needing every server on; I could turn them off. • Room for Improvement: Compatibility with SoftLayer I think was our block. Rackspace was fine, as far as I know. • Use of Solution: I think I have been using it for a few months. • Stability Issues: We didn’t have stability problems. • Scalability Issues: We didn’t have scalability problems. • Customer Service and Technical Support: I don't recall using technical support. • Previous Solutions: We did use AWS autoscaling but Rackspace left something to be desired. • Initial Setup: Setup was fine. What is most valuable?

The deep analysis that you can do in it, although it's both a blessing and a curse (10,000 switches you can dig through).

They need to continually develop the sample config scripts.

It loses points not on capability, but becuase it's overly complex to set up.
