We're a reseller as well as a customer.

We're running the latest software. We deploy through a controller and we use 802.1X. There're multiple ways to deploy to customers. There's a cloud controller, for example. We typically do a virtual controller on their systems.

If a company is new to Ruckus, it's best to work with a partner. You need somebody that knows what they're doing, and knows what questions to ask so that you're getting the right information. When I go to do an implementation, I've got a list of 50 different questions. I'll ask somebody, what about this? What about this? What about this? It will help with the implementation process if someone has a complete view of what to ask for and what to do.

You get what you pay for. People will throw in Linksys, and this other stuff. If you're a business, say you're a coffee shop and you have 50 customers sitting there. You want all of them to get the same performance all the time. I want to make sure everybody gets an equal amount of time without anybody getting any interruptions.

With Linksys and Ubiquiti and all these other brands, you don't get that. When it comes to the head-to-head competition, the Ruckus far out-shines them. Ten to one, you just can't compete. When they say it's going to do something, it does it. They don't put documentation out that is misleading. If it says it'll do 1,024 clients it'll do 1,024 clients. If it says it'll do 4.3 gigabytes, it'll do 4.3 gigabytes. It's great.

Overall, I would rate the solution at a nine out of ten.

Speaking about whether it was easy or difficult to maintain the solution, I would say that my experience was average.

I would tell those who plan to use the solution that it is not a voice move to deploy it now since you can't deploy Wi-Fi 6E currently.

Ruckus Wireless doesn't offer the latest protocols in all formats. For small deployments, you have to be on their enterprise platform, and if you're not deploying with the help of their enterprise platform, you can't deploy the latest generation of Wi-Fi, making it difficult for you to sell it. Ruckus Wireless is currently only good for maintenance purposes.

I rate the overall solution a three out of ten.

I'm a consultant. I was a partner of Ruckus at another company, however, right now, I am just a customer.

I've got the solution installed in my office and directly connected to an AP. Then, at home, I've got a mesh network. I basically meshed three of these solutions together.

They do a lot of stadiums and outdoor areas and works very well.

I'd advise others considering the solution that, when you're implementing your wireless products or area of coverage, make sure you test it. Also, make sure that you have the proper signaling to the outer edge where you want coverage. That's what I would say, no matter what product you bring in. Just test its capabilities to make sure it does what you need it to do.

Overall, I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.

We are an authorised reseller of the product.

The reason that we sell Ruckus Wireless is that, in my opinion, it's the best-engineered hardware solution. Ruckus are innovative and define many standards in wireless technology, they apply those standards to their products and their products work very well.

We stripped away all the marketing blurb that various companies do when they're jockeying for position. The proof is in the deployment, how happy the clients are, how easy it is to deploy, and how easy it is to manage afterwards.

This solution has one of the easiest deployments. Obviously, whether I recommend it or not depends on my clients' requirements, however, I would wholeheartedly recommend Ruckus over other solutions. Having had firsthand experience of Ruckus, as well as other solutions, we do prefer it.

We've been using the latest version of the solution. We're resellers of Ruckus.

Typically, I would recommend the solution. However, their market share has really dropped off and their marketing is terrible from the logo to the name.

Their partner portal is great because you could register as a partner, and, because I'm a partner, I could register easily and use the backend and frontend for salesforce.com. I can log in and register deals with them.

It looks like CommScope created their own technology with Ruckus technology and an LTE solution. Some sort of small cell. My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is not to become obsessed with bandwidth or throughput. It is more important to look at coverage and roaming capabilities than simply the bandwidth. I find that when it comes to schools, people who are implementing wireless usually overdo it.

The setup is straightforward. Our company goes to the client's location. We set up the POC for the client. Then we pass the throughput so that our access point can communicate with the provider and in with the POC, we can tell the access point through Ruckus is preferential.

I recommend finding a good system integration partner to assist with the job. If you don't, the strategy for deployment becomes confusing and the result can be disappointing.

I rate this product a strong 9 out of 10! The product is excellent, the support is very good, the hardware is good, and the software powering the hardware is also very good.

We are integrators.

We are using the latest version of the solution.

Laptops and phones, all kinds of wireless devices, are at every office these days. Having a Wi-Fi network is really important. You need it as well to connect to meetings and IoT solutions.

Due to evolving technologies in Wi-Fi, we are now getting more than one GBPS throughput. Even on the LAN, for accessing the applications, having something that can increase or guarantee connectivity is crucial.

Ruckus, as a company, offers an absolute good product. The features they came up with weren't even offered by Cisco. The performance that we were getting made it so that we have replaced Cisco in a number of use cases. However, once support dropped off, we started to shift to Huawei and back to Cisco. We also occasionally work with Aruba.

I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. It's the best solution on the market.

However, due to the issues surrounding support, I would not necessarily recommend Ruckus. I'd likely recommend Aruba, which is also quite good. Aruba has very good support. They have very good access points and different models with different licenses. Overall, it is really good.

We are proposing the Ruckus solution to our customers with the latest software versions, not the older versions. Whichever the latest version is, we propose them to our customer. We are always working on the latest version and all the products in the Ruckus, like switching, wireless, software, etc. They do have some different software versions. However, we are working on the latest, stronger versions.

We use both the cloud and on-premises deployment models.

I definitely recommend the Ruckus solution, however, there are pros and cons to every brand. Ruckus does have some benefits and they are very strong in their RF technology. If you talk about their switching side, they are the pioneers of that. Their switching platform is stable. They are using some proprietary technologies like BeamFlex and ChannelFly.

They are providing greater flexibility alongside the best scalability. They're great.

Overall, I would rate the solution seven out of ten.

Project Manager at a tech services company with 11-50 employees

My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is that it is a good product, with good support, it is easy to set up, and the coverage is good. In a small to medium-sized business, you may not even need training to set up the controller.

I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.

Managing Director at a tech vendor with 51-200 employees

I would rate it an eight out of ten because of how stable it is, the easy integration, and their maintenance. It was quite stable and we can easily scale up our installation. The integration is quite easy for now, and we already have implemented all the challenging applications and challenging environments.

Stability is something that's very important, then mobility you have to check, nowadays  Ruckus is mostly used for the enterprise-class, it's not a retail product. The climate is very important for wireless where you have quite a number of APs. If you don't have good mobility, you might not be able to enjoy the usefulness of this wireless technology.
