Salesforce Marketing Cloud Other Advice

SantoshKrishna - PeerSpot reviewer
Director at BMO Financial

I give the solution an eight out of ten.

I recommend the solution primarily to organizations that are specifically planning marketing campaigns. These organizations may not have a lot of real-time data and may rely more on customer behavior within their organization. While every organization is unique, I believe this platform is best suited for those with a strong focus on marketing and sales. However, it may also have the potential for the banking industry, especially with the emergence of technologies such as AI.

I'm using the latest version of the solution.

I'd recommend the solution. It's an easy-to-use SaaS product. We always recommend it to our customers. If someone wants to get started immediately, Salesforce is very good. If they need lots of customizations, another product might be more suitable.

I would rate the solution nine out of ten.

With the solution's Email Studio feature, you can design your email templates and design promotional and transactional emails. You might need a developer's help designing those emails.

I have integrated Salesforce Marketing Cloud with WordPress. The main strength of Marketing Cloud is that it connects to Salesforce easily and with other platforms like WordPress. It also has the capacity to work independently, but you'll not be able to get data insights about what exactly happened with the orders. You'll get limited features because you opted for limited third-party apps or integrations.

I'll ask a potential user whether they are running any email campaigns and which system they are running them on. They should have all their data ready, which they will put in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. All their email templates and sequences have to be designed before they can start using the solution. They have to push the data inside Salesforce Marketing Cloud and start using it. The Journey Builder in the solution is very efficient and used by 60% to 70% of people.

It is not that easy for a beginner to learn to use Salesforce Marketing Cloud for the first time. You should at least have some experience with email sequencing and email-sending tools like Mailchimp.

Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

It's a SaaS solution, so we don't have it on-prem. We've subscribed to Salesforce for our sales team.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. It's a great product. If you know your requirements and what you need, it's a good product to work with. The functionality is great. However, the pricing could always be lower.

I rate the solution an eight out of ten. The solution is good, but the technicality in it can be streamlined. My advice to new users considering this product is to seek expert opinions. There has to be a requirement gathering station in place, so I advise them to seek input from consultants like me. Salesforce Marketing Cloud is not for everyone. It was not cheap. So, smaller businesses would be better off speaking to a consultant and might not need it. They may need iMailChimp, HubSpot, or any other marketing tool.

I give the solution an eight out of ten. Salesforce is reliable and once configured, it can capture as much customer information as desired. The solution is also highly scalable, allowing many users to be added without issue. The only downside is the cost, which has a recurring expenditure component that can add up over time. Additionally, once everyone is trained in a particular software, it can be difficult to switch, making it difficult to break away from the software. Salesforce is a great tool, but it can be addictive and can lead to a feeling of being locked in.

Depending on our ability to develop in-house CRM software, I would advise staying in-house. If we opt for Salesforce, we will likely be tied to it for five to ten years, depending on the size and complexity of our organization. For larger and more complex organizations, Salesforce may be the best solution; however, if the organization is of medium size, they should consider developing custom software in-house, which would be more cost-effective.

I'm using the latest version of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

There's a plan to increase the number of Salesforce Marketing Cloud users, but only a little bit, such as one or two more users, but it's not going to be a one hundred percent increase. It'll be a slight increase.

I would recommend Salesforce Marketing Cloud to others because it's okay as a solution. However, I started with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and knew that system better, so I like it more, but Salesforce Marketing Cloud is okay.

I'm giving Salesforce Marketing Cloud a seven out of ten.

My advice is if you want a scalable solution, this is the solution, but it's necessary to have the support of a good partner to help deploy. You will need someone inside of the organization that has the knowledge to support the internal team.

I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. This is a very powerful and scalable solution. We can grow with the solution and they have many solutions around. For example, around CRM you have solutions related to integration, orchestration, personalization, support, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
