SAP Analytics Cloud Other Solutions Considered
IBM Cognos is a product that I considered against SAP Analytics Cloud.

I evaluated Power BI, and it's fairly good, especially in terms of pricing. It's also easier to use, apart from being cheaper than SAP Analytics Cloud, but both are good products.

My company evaluated Power BI.

View full review »Previously, we used BusinessObjects. That's the previous version of SAP, but it's been changed to SAC.
These days we are comparing the modern BI products, like Click, Tableau, and Microsoft Power BI. Those are the main competitors.

Tableau, Power BI. From a user perspective, much more flexible and functional, but lacking the proper integration with SAP BW.

We adopted Qlik Sense a few years ago, then we started with SAP, and after having tried SAP, we decided to stay with SAP Analytics Cloud. We discharged Qlik Sense.

In general Power BI seems to be more professional and user-friendly, it's certainly easier to find data. I prefer Power BI if I want to work quickly with clients because it's easier to use and I can send a link whereas SAP is more difficult to access and I can never be sure that the client can get access. The first steps are more or less the same with both products although SAP Analytics has perhaps more details to analyze what you see on the screen and Power BI has more of a classical interface.

The client actually wanted SAP. We checked other vendors to see if they could match what SAP could offer.

We thought about going with Tableau Cloud. We attended some sessions on SAP Analytics Cloud and learned about the integration with HANA, and we felt that it would be very good so we chose it.

We evaluated Tableau and Power BI before choosing SAP. The decision to go with SAP was connected to our underlying data. If your data is on SAP and your data warehouse is SAP Business Warehouse, as in our case, it made sense to go with SAP Analytics.

The same things can be done using Tableau.

We considered Microsoft BI, but it didn't have the same seamless integration with SAP.
View full review »We have also recently tried Tableau and they are also pretty good. I do not find much difference between them. It is, however, the choice of the customer.
Some people like the Tableau reporting, whereas others like the SAC reporting, and it is based on the data being reported. SAC is pretty new on the market so Tableau is more flexible in terms of legacy support. A good example is Redshift. Tableau has a direct connection and SAC does not.
We have also used QlikView in the past.
View full review »Microsoft and Tableau are market leaders in my opinion. They have more advanced features and more depth in the stories' functionality, for example. We need to know that we are using the latest and greatest, and SAP appears as if it has lost some credibility in the market.
View full review »The BI capabilities are not competitive when compared with other BI tools.
