In my role supporting clients in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Europe, and India, I have worked with companies, including government entities like Gartner Rich Ship Builders, migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA Cloud. The transition aims to streamline operations, enhance user experiences with SAP Fiori, and enable real-time analytics for better decision-making. While specific client names are confidential, our support spans diverse industries, illustrating the global adoption and versatile applications of SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

The business suite that I have got the most experience with is SAP, but they are making that transition into S/4HANA. With S/4HANA, they got both an on-premise and a cloud-based solution, so you can buy it in the cloud on a subscription service or you can have it on-premise. On-premises allows you to manage your own site solution, which a lot of big companies might prefer to do. But then Microsoft Dynamics 365 is also a cloud-based solution that you pay a monthly subscription per person fee — or whatever arrangements you can work out. I think NetSuite is the same way.  

Unfortunately, I have not been directly involved in developing any larger use cases for S/4HANA or 365 or NetSuite. That has been a frustration for me over the last seven or eight years. My move to do an independent consultant was actually to get back into the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) environment and the opportunities just have not been there to further explore the possibilities. It has been kind of frustrating because I have had to focus mostly on continuous improvement and other areas. But even though I spent 10 years in the SAP space, it seems like now I am too far away from where I should have been in working with the product. When I look at these cloud-based solutions in comparison, I have been following SAP and S/4HANA since it started. At least from my point-of-view, SAP is leaps and bounds ahead of anybody else in that space by far.  

They are not going to be a perfect ERP solution for everyone, but they look like they are going to try to stay as close to that as anyone can. What they are doing as a total ERP package can support the whole enterprise.  

S/4HANA is an ERP solution that is distributed in various modules. We have modules for financial business processes and a controlling module that manages costs. The materials management module handles purchasing and inventory management, while the production planning module addresses manufacturing business processes. 

There is a whole sea of modules for HANA, but I am an expert in only the materials management module. On the technical side, we have two kinds of consultants. One takes care of the cloud and on-premise infrastructure. We also have ABAP consultants who are programmers who define the logic. In S/4HANA, we have the technical side, which I'm unaware of, and the functional side. I am on the functional side. 

I'm the solution architect here, so I deal with the solutions proposed by the consultants. I am utilizing the S/4HANA, but my role is different. I'm not designing the solutions. I am managing the solutions the consultants propose and ensuring the quality of the solution.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud streamlines my client's business and, with the move to the cloud, it is more flexible and efficient.

We are using SAP S/4HANA Cloud as a cost ledger and reports.

We use this solution to do a lot of mock up applications to mimic the user scenarios for a couple of our current clients. We try to use those scenarios to see how S/4HANA could be used as a system to better authorize the current client's ability.

I'm using version 1909. The cloud provider is AWS.

There are around 20 people using this solution in my organization.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud can be integrated with other non-SAP applications. Our company wants to elevate the core user experience and wants users to use the SAP favourite mobile applications.

We use SAP S/4HANA Cloud for claims portal applications in more than 25 countries. It is used to work on customer complaints after the sale order has been created. Once the customer or distributor raises their complaint, it goes into different levels of approval. Then, based on whether the different levels of approval have been accepted or rejected, an order gets created in the back end of the SAP system, and a cash memo or part exchange is given to the customer. Before the final approval, different approvals and IDs are created in the SAP cloud database instead of the SAP on-premise database to help reduce the number of users.

We're a manufacturing company that uses S/4HANA for managing finances and other business processes. 

I use SAP to manage an entire company. It is an ERP system that helps me streamline and integrate various business processes.

Speaking about use cases, it is a whole ERP system for a medical tech company.

The solution is to enhance the customer experience. If a company wants a more seamless experience for the customers and they were expanding their omnichannel experience, they implement this product. 

In my consulting work, clients commonly use SAP S/4HANA Cloud for finance and logistics. Some integrate additional applications through the Business Technology Platform, while others streamline manufacturing processes with Digital Supply Chain functionalities.

We are into little segments and we are using SAP's little option. We are using five models in that S4HANA, and this is just the backend. On the front-end side, we are using both applications and both are integrated together.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud is very powerful compared to previous versions regarding enterprise process management, data retrieval, and reporting. SAP S/4HANA Cloud is way better than the previous versions because of the data architecture and new technology adopted by SAP.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud has been used in manufacturing, for niche industries, such as automotive utilities, higher education, and oil and gas.

Its use cases are related to financial management, asset management, ERP, logistics, and sales.

We have some interim back-end systems that we want to protect. We plan to bring in an API management system to take care of all the traffic and everything. This way, the consumers will not have direct access to the back-end system. We are evaluating what makes the most sense because, in our organization, there are multiple technologies. However, our principle is to keep the API gateway closest to the back-end gateway.

Our primary use case for the solution is processing funds. All active sales and sales activities are managed on SAP S/4HANA, which is production, packing, outbound, and inbound.

We use SAP S/4HANA Cloud to pull data and analyze it in Excel.

I am a consultant for this product. Many of my customers use this for various product and finance processes. This is a user-friendly, comprehensive solution to manage finance.

We primarily use the solution for data governance. It is a lot of mastering data and depends on the organization and how the organization is structured. There can be more centralized data or data structured for the organization. You can work on the localization where it's an expanded version of oversight for data governance. It varies, however, it's really driven by master data maintenance and product compliance behind that maintenance, managing, and governing of master data.

It's an information management system and can have all your company's information.

My primary use case is for organizational design, especially for payroll.

Our company deploys the solution for our customers as a business ERP for daily operations. We work primarily in the construction, service, and manufacturing industries. 

Our company has 120 users, administrators, and developers who use the solution. 

The solution is used to solve many activities. We use it, for example, for backoffice, to solve the problem in control and governance. It gives us more "information control". That's the main mission of ERP software.

I use S/4HANA Cloud to manage our business and maintain our raw materials and finances, accounts, employee details, supplier details, invoices, payments, and all supply-chain management details.
