ServiceNow Now Platform Previous Solutions
I have experience with Jira and BMC Remedy ITSM. It was my company and not me who chose ServiceNow Now Platform.
I have experience with products like SymphonyAI Summit Service Management and Halo ITSM, with which I can compare ServiceNow Now Platform. Compared to SymphonyAI Summit Service Management and Halo ITSM, ServiceNow Now Platform is a much better enterprise-based solution for bigger clients with a large user database. SymphonyAI Summit Service Management and Halo ITSM are good for smaller user databases or companies.
My company switched from SymphonyAI Summit Service Management and Halo ITSM to ServiceNow Now Platform since it served the purpose or requirements of our bigger clients who wanted multiple functionalities, higher availability, and more robust systems with better performance.
We use SAP Solution Manager. Some of our customers also use Jira and other products.

Earlier, my company was using an old version of a product named BMC Remedy.
View full review »We used Microsoft Power Apps before we switched to the ServiceNow Now Platform. We found the design of Microsoft Power Apps to be non-scalable and non-performing. The performance was very bad on Microsoft Power Apps, so we moved to the ServiceNow Now Platform.
View full review »We previously used Microsoft Power Apps and SharePoint. When it comes to complex workflows, cross-functional projects and extended integration features, ServiceNow does a much better job. For simple functions and workflows, Power Apps and SharePoint are sufficient but for complex, cross-functional work we prefer an LCNC platform like ServiceNow.

I'm beginning to consider Jira as an alternative. It's lighter and easier to use. Also, Jira does a lot more updates centrally to their system than ServiceNow does. However, I haven't yet vetted it as an ITSM.

Before ServiceNow, I used other solutions, but mostly they were custom-built applications. For example, I used to code and develop an application from scratch. ServiceNow is the first product I have used software that is a dedicated service desk product.
I initially used the HP ALM tool. It's very good for tracking bugs and finding defects. The issue with Service Now is that every time you come across a problem, you need to make a ticket, and that's a challenge.

I have used other ITSM solutions and they often focus on just IT services, whereas the ServiceNow Now Platform focuses on a wider range. The services cover facilities, security, operations, and more. Other solutions are cheaper but they are too focused on IT services.
