What is most valuable?

With respect to being a clean and efficient communications platform, I think that it does the job quite well. It's very good for when you have a large number of people working within the team. It can be a challenge to ensure that people are working within the bounds of the project that they are… more »

What needs improvement?

I have found it cumbersome to create and set up groups, or channels. I recall having to go through the application, then back to the web site, and then back to the application. I didn't really like that and this is something in the interface that should be improved. If it were possible or easier to… more »

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

A lot of the work that we're doing now ends up on Microsoft Teams. Whether I like it or not, it tends to marginalize and eventually push Slack out of the picture.

What other advice do I have?

From my perspective, this is a good product and I definitely recommend it. My advice for anybody who is implementing this type of product is to first consider what it is that they want to achieve, and then make the decision about which product to implement based on that. If you're trying to pick… more »

What is most valuable?

This solution is easy to use. Slack makes it easy for employees to contact each other and exchange documents or information. It is not like a big CRM but for internal usage, it's good enough.

How has it helped my organization?

Slack allows our employees to share information on a daily basis without overloading email.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see a special feature for multiple people to collaborate on a document, working on it at the same time. For most add-ons, clients need to know the command to run the add-ons. I think… more »

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We use the free version that does not have a license.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anybody who is researching Slack is that it is easy to set up and quite helpful for daily common things. We use only the free license but it is enough for us. If we continue to use Slack… more »

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We may use Microsoft teams in place of Slack in the future, although this is not a decision that I will be part of. At this time, there is not much interest in moving to Zoom or Teams. We did not want… more »

What is most valuable?

Chat, video, and call functionality has been awesome. The ease of setting up and integrating with other apps is seamless. Data consumption by the app is also at its barest minimum, helping to cut… more »

How has it helped my organization?

Slack has helped to increase the productivity of my teams and organization. We have been able to cut down on subscription costs, reduce client delivery time, troubleshoot more effectively, and achieve… more »

What needs improvement?

I think the app is good enough, as I don't have any reason to comment negatively on it. The only area of concern that I have is with the inability to preview received documents without having to… more »

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not use another solution prior to this one.

What other advice do I have?

This is a great app that has awesome functionality. A try will definitely be worth it.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have evaluated both Microsoft Teams and Skype.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the screen sharing, which works well. This solution is freely available to almost everyone. The tracking, integration tool, and voice calls are all good. The user interface is intuitive for me.

What needs improvement?

There should be better integration between Slack and Office 365. It should be easier to work collaboratively on files. I would like the text in chat to be more customizable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We are using multiple web conferencing tools including Mircosoft Teams, Skype, and Slack. I would say that the user interface in Slack is more intuitive than in Teams. One advantage to teams is that it is fully integrated into Office 365. I would say that collaborative working on files is better in… more »

What other advice do I have?

Overall, this is a good product and I can recommend it. It's easy to use and so far, it has been reliable. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature for me was the different channels. You can make categories and then jump between different channels and groups. It is really easy to use.

What needs improvement?

Slack does not have videoconferencing capabilities, which would have been nice. It would be helpful if they added this feature in the future. The addition of more chat features such as sending GIFs and emoticons would be an improvement.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My understanding is that we were using the free version.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were using Slack and then during the COVID pandemic, we switched to Zoom. Now, we have installed Microsoft Teams and are working with it. I think it would be excellent if they combined Slack and Zoom.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anybody who is considering Slack is that it is a great tool. For us, it's difficult to talk with other departments, so this was the ideal solution. Overall, we really liked it, although it would have been nice to have… more »

What is most valuable?

I really liked the Slack bot and its integration with partners to make the work easy and with proper flow. We can create a group also.

How has it helped my organization?

Slack has been very useful in our organization for doing communications and passing on pieces of information.

What needs improvement?

* I think it's the best till now and the Slack team is doing well. * It will be great if they can start using the offline mode chat. Once we are back online, it will float the messages again.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

You can have a free trial also for Slack, and its pricing depends on the features and team size you want to go with. The pricing is good, and it's worth it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were using Google Hangouts before Slack.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We were planning for Skype, Discord and Microsoft Teams.

What is most valuable?

Slack is a powerpack bundle of features that help small or large organizations to handle teams and their tasks. Personally, I love the feature that gives you the ability to name a channel as per task and include/exclude members within that channel to eradicate all other disturbances.

How has it helped my organization?

Earlier, while we used to communicate through email, it was good but it became difficult to keep track of all the projects and keep ourselves updated with the latest changes. Since we started using Slack, we have been able to solve each other's problems and identify all of the loopholes within a reasonable timeline.

What needs improvement?

According to my observation, a large size file sharing feature is what can be expected, which will centralize all activities within Slack and that can save a lot of time. I would like to see the social sharing of blogs, announcements, or other news directly from the message corner.

I would like the in-meeting content sharing facility to be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Slack for about one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Slack is stable and we haven't had any problems.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have not had issues with scalability but our audiences in the meetings have not been large.

The technical support is fine.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
