What do you think of Selenium HQ?

Primary Use Case We took Selenium for web product test automation and as it very well suits as it has capacity to execute in different browser, different environment. Also it has lot other capacities to scale up test automation and yield better ROI. • Improvements to My Organization Web-based application automation are mostly done using Selenium. It's the right automation tool as a replacement for manual regression testing that indispensably reduces the testing time due to its cross-browser, parallel, and remote executions. • Valuable Features - Most importantly, it is an open source tool. - Parallel executions (same browser in parallel, different browser in parallel). - Remote executions using Node and Hub. - Integration with CI tools like Jenkins - Multi-platform...

What do you think of Tricentis Tosca?

Overall, it is quite a different experience in using it. It does not contain any code, and builds from the requirements as a model of what the actual application will contain. The catch being that initially you do not need to define your test cases from the application end and things might not even be in sequence of what the actual final application would look like. I have an analogy for this – a human body is composed of head, body, hands and legs. Each one has its own “attributes”, which in turn have “instances”. This is what is called the ‘Model-based approach’. Each hand will have attributes such as fingers, nails, elbow, fore-hand, wrist, etc. Then, all these attributes will have instances – long fingers, short fingers, thick fingers, etc. Now to build a body, you need to...

What needs improvement?

1. We face issues when working with datasource. In my project we used a CSV file as an input test data files. However when the test data file (CSV) is empty then Parasoft stops abruptly. A workaround we found is to fill some dummy data into... more»

What do you think of Sauce Labs?

Valuable Features I have found it very valuable that Sauce Labs gives me the ability to integrate testing on multiple web browsers into our Jenkins Pipeline. • Improvements to My Organization It has made our end to end testing roughly 25 percent faster. • Room for Improvement I think there could be improvements in the way Sauce Labs provides support to its users and could maybe provide tutorial videos on its services. • Use of Solution About 4 months. • Deployment Issues No. • Stability Issues Minor ones but they were on my end. • Scalability Issues Our application is relatively small so no • Customer Service and Technical Support Customer Service: 10/10 Technical Support: 9/10 • Previous Solutions No. • Initial Setup It was very...

What do you think of UFT (QTP)?

In my ten years of hands-on combined experience using QTP (QuickTest Professional), for at least 8 years, and UFT (Unified Functional Testing), for at least 2 years, I have observed that there has been a lot of confusion among the testing community on what the difference is between the two tools. Therefore, I thought it would be beneficial to clarify what distinguishes UFT from QTP because it is important for the reader to know. QTP is a functional and regression automation tool originally developed and marketed by Mercury Interactive which HP acquired in 2006. In 2012, HP released UFT (Unified Functional Testing) version 11.5, which combined QuickTest Professional and HP Service Test into a single software package along with newly designed IDE (Integrated Development...

What do you think of Zeenyx AscentialTest?

Valuable Features Our web site is dynamically generated to each user, so much so that the only testing solution we found was AscentialTest. The unique ability to take a snapshot of a form, have controls on that page dynamically recognized, combined with being able to store all our form variables in a SQL database helped us automate repeatable testing. • Improvements to My Organization Automated repeatable tests that can be compared to a control, help find and keep bugs from being released into our live system. • Room for Improvement I would like to see a debugger added. • Use of Solution I have used it for two years. • Deployment Issues We have not encountered any deployment issues. • Stability Issues We have not encountered any stability issues. •...
