SolarWinds' tech support is fantastic overall, but the level 1 support often misses the problem. They start by collecting the diagnostics. They are cooperative, but level one is usually lacking in knowledge. 

You are able to install SolarWinds and begin monitoring within a day.

Three FTEs spend a portion of their time on maintaining the product. We would need the time of one and a half FTEs for maintenance.

I used a vendor team.

We did the implementation ourselves. We need a lot of staff members for the maintenance of the SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor.

I did the implementation of the solution.

Deployment can take one to two weeks, depending on the customer’s requirements. We give customization documents to the customer and ask them questions about how they want to deploy and use the solution. Then, we request the customer for documents about the server and CPUs to deploy the solution. Before deploying the solution, we also confirm the features they want to install on the server.

I am a consultant, so I did the deployment. Its deployment and maintenance can be done by one person.

I was able to handle the entire implementation myself after going through and reading the documentation. I didn't need the outside assistance of an integrator or consultant.

The solution is structured to be modular. You simply look for the module that looks good for your organization, you can just buy and integrate.
